Won't stop them
But I find it interesting that 'one of their own' seems to have made serious attempts to reign in the bully-boys.

A core piece of code is in actual fixed, socketed ROM. This is the only thing that can access all areas.
It calls primary firmware that is updateable, but only when a physical switch is set (during which time it can't actually run).
These blocks of firmware allocate memory in two groups Read-Only program space and R/W data space.
NO code can run in data space. No code can directly access program space outside its own tree - so it can spawn other programs but can't touch anyone else's nor even rewrite itself.
Some years back a friend had a strange growth on his back, but left it a very long time before telling anyone.
The result was that the growth had worked so far into his spine that it was impossible to remove without the risk of waist down paralysis.
If the rest of the world were my friend, guess what that makes the USA?
No Need to be sorry,
It may seem strange, but just because I haven't been able to get tickets doesn't mean I'd lose interest. I also know people who have been there as recently as two years ago, and I can assure you they came back just as excited (and tired) as I was. Unfortunately the BBC etc. give a positively minuscule, tightly blinkered coverage of the event, so the only way you'll be able to verify what I say is to either go there, or, you know, talk to those who have.
Over the last 6 months or so, their general stability has been pretty dire too - with a really weird outage last weekend.
The project I work on was first put on SF in 2009, but now I've mirrored it to github. It's a 'wait & see' situation, but I'm not going to risk losing control of the code.
@nilfs2
If that really is your job, and you really do act as your wrote, then you are a major part of the problem.
I have no respect at all for sales people who deliberately sideline those that know what they are doing, and take advantage of managers who simply can't be expected to have a full grasp of the ramifications - all to make a quick killing.
