You had ones AND zeros?
We had just one or 'tother and had to remember which were supposed to be the other type.

Still got one in working condition. I used to use it for work, my colleagues laughed at it... till one was with me working on a {cough} mature printing press and I pulled it out and with the aid of a serial/USB adapter was monitoring the telemetry. At the time there wasn't much other kit that could handle the high vibration and shock loads. Since retiring I just give it a run from time to time to keep the electrons 'fresh'.
P.S. With those older presses half the time you were working in them rather than on them! When inside them you always made sure the supply fuses were in you pocket.
Go one step further. Get an AI to generate a lot of fake but believable data, but also containing low importance real stuff. Release that. A large quantity with some bits provably right will be more believable, and it will also confuse the thieves. If they release the real stuff out of spite, nobody will know which is which
In a few years time, when various office leases start to expire, I wouldn't be at all surprised if the company bean counters lean on the the Csuits to come up with an amazing idea that cough nobody thought of - "why don't we mandate that our employees work from home, and say it's for their own good."
Hmmm. The term 'doesn't fit' is somewhat ambiguous.
From an engineering viewpoint, the two most definitely don't fit. e.g. there is one particular combination of BA and Metric nut/bolt size which will mate, and in an emergency is usable, but it doesn't 'fit' either specification and the threads make poorly.
In this O/P case, while it is physically possible to plug in, it doesn't actually fit - there's a gap either side, although in some cases it will work - the fact that you are reading this proves the point. The modem I have here requires a lead with with an RL11 on one end and and an RJ45 on the other! I'm currently using a cable an RJ11 on both ends. I've also seen an RJ11 plug without a locating peg put into an RG45 socket offset.
Clearly anyone from junior management and above should not be allowed anywhere near the internet, and the rest of the workfarce should only be permitted limited access under the watchful gaze of someone with at least two communicating neurons.
P.S. workfarce was a typo, but it fits rather well!
