Metaverses are flopping – hard – says Gartner

Wincerind

Well, it's in the name really. Met averse - It's for those who are averse to meeting people

Metaverse? Apple thinks $3,500 AR ski goggles are the betterverse

Wincerind

It's Apple, so the "I have got" crowd may go for it this time. That and the fact you'll need to remortgage your house and sell your firstborn to pay for it.

I watched a Youtube video yesterday of Ronald Reagan telling Soviet era jokes. One of them seemed just as appropriate today.

An American dog, a Polish dog and a Russian dog meet and are talking.

American dog: If you bark and bark they'll come and give you meat.

Polish dog: What's meat?

Russian dog: What's bark?

I'm looking for a bit of insight from someone here.

Gartner: You think Huawei's sales figures are bad now? Wait till you see next year's

Wincerind

I must be missing something here. According to the fugures in the article Huawei are haveing a really awful year selling 51.8 million phones while apple are a bit down selling 40.5 million. So, awful is still over 11 million phones more than Apple?

Re: Polarizing filter

Thanks for the explanation. I was wondering why the op was getting serious downvotes for what was, on the face of it, a suggested solution.

Ericsson warns investors: This Biden fellow coming into the White House may look to resolve China trade dispute...

Wincerind

You can bet your left sock that Ericsson have had Huawei's kit in their labs and can prove it isn't a security threat. But they can't let that one out of the bag as it would be bad for business. And also because "the Donald" won't believe it anyway and they'll be blacklisted as co conspiritors.

Re: It helps to have the world's wussiest burglar break into your house...

I wasn't a police sceptic. Until I got my caravan stolen off my driveway in broad daylight about 20 years ago. All I got was a crime number after about a week.

Wincerind

Re: It helps to have the world's wussiest burglar break into your house...

"The cops will be there in a matter of hours". No

The cops may call you back with a crime number in a week or so.
