This is just such a bad, poorly thought out take. By putting Russia or China in charge, it would become inherently political. The standards they are trying to push would legitimize their wish to remove free speech from people in their countries. On one side you have the free internet, and on the other you have an internet broken up in to regions that can be completely controlled by the country that owns them. If you see this as a zero sum, there is something wrong with your glasses.

It's not "bull", none of the cryptos are worth their current "value". All of them are basically ponzi schemes and will collapse at some point. That point seems to be getting closer, and bitcoin will be forced to change to a PoS scheme soon enough because no one will put up with it's energy consumption.

Nichelle Nichols - did an amazing job for race relations, including the first on screen interracial kiss as well as for equality, as she played a female officer on a warship.

Star Trek itself did a huge amount for equality, racial and sexual, as well as showing the world a view of what we could accomplish if we all worked together. It also did political commentary on things such as the Vietnam War, which no other show at the time could get away with.

So why the status? Because it had arguably the largest impact in real life than any TV show before or since, and that's not hyperbole.

There isn't really anything to discuss. The judge made a ruling, El Reg reported it. End of. El Reg were not in court, railing against Parler. They took no part at all.

Two things though: 1) Hate speech is not protected by the first amendment 2) The first amendment protects you against the government, not private enterprise.

If you are going to go around screaming death threats, racist slurs and spreading lies, be prepared for the consequences of that action.

"Life" is terrible. Like, objectively terrible. The scientists on the station are supposed to be some of the smartest people on Earth, yet they do the dumbest most anti-science things to the point where the wife and I were hoping they would all die. Horribly.

Yup, similar thing here. I have a HDMI cable routed across the wall to my tv so i can use my PC while sitting on my sofa. I also have an XBOX X plugged in too. They wife is currently using the xbox, so i'm sitting at my desk instead.

I love my console. I love my PC. I use them for different things. Tribalism, just like nationalism, needs to die. Painfully. In a fire.

Also, Greece would have been a lot worse off if the EU hadn't stepped in as they haven't controlled their own inflation in decades. They also have HUGE amounts of corruption throughout their country and waste money everywhere. You can't blame the EU for trying to reel them in.

Similar in Spain. If they are going to pin all their hopes on Tourism while selling all the good houses to foreigners, where do they expect to get money from? Don't blame the EU for nations making bad decisions. Same as trying to blame the EU for France not following the EU's advice, leading to the gilets jaunes movement.

Not forgetting that you also shouldn't use any piece of Cisco equipment on your network, as the NSA can jump on and inspect your traffic without you being any the wiser. At this point, i'm thinking we need to remove all their kit from Europe as it seems to be a very dangerous security threat. We don't want our info getting in to the hands of a foreign enemy power now, do we?

You have to find the leaks first, then you have to work out how to repair them. It's not like fixing a tap! If you've never worked in the water industry, then you have no clue how much of a pain it is. A lot of the money Thames is spending should (In theory) help them find and fix leaks.

I have an Alexa because i was given one. It sits in the kitchen, usually unplugged. We use as a speaker in the kitchen, quite often plugged in with an audio jack from an old mp3 player.

It's a good speaker, we don't really use it as a smart speaker and a lot of it's functionality is turned off. Would i buy one? Probably not.

The iPod was a terrible piece of kit. The sound from it was awful and you could buy much better bits of kit for less. It is exactly what i'm talking about.
