Actully, it's really exciting tech. we mains charge it fully just once, then it keeps topping up with sun light and lasts much longer (as opposed to much less hours without the sun light). Future versions will gradually become more powerful.
From what I hear from my circle of friends, this is a targeted attack on Zoho to damage their reputation. Tierra's credibility (if any) is at stake now.
Spam is a cat and mouse game - both good and bad guys are evolving constantly. I still get Spam in google and yahoo in my inbox. They all try their best classify and send them to spam folder, yet they fail at times.
We should see 7nm ASAP.
Reduction would take us towards consuming more energy and better battery life. It might have a cost for AMD but if they are ready to jump in, it gives them an advantage over Intel. Even if the end user likes to stick to >10nm and sees no great advantage, their cost will be low. AMD's roll out will squeeze Intel's margins.
I still don't understand how a single charger would resolve the differences in fast-charging specs. Qualcomm increases the voltage in compatible devices upto 12V (in stead of 5V for standard USB). OnePlus uses a higher amperage with compatible devices (charger/cable). They both are quite different and work against the policy of single spec for charger. Cable can be standadised with USB C by taking the highest quality cable (capable of 12V and high amperage) and forcing them on all. I have seen one that has a USB-C to lightnng adapter sticking to it. When the remaining micro USB people move to new phones, this must be standard.
Similarly, if Qualcomm and BKK agree, then they can create a charger with both specs included.
I vaguely remember Amazon had a deal with mobile carriers to allow Kindle owners to download ebooks whenever they want, in whichever network they are in in. Device owner don't pay anything and I guess they get internet only for the white-listed Amazon website. Similar arrangement might exist for blackboxes.
I am still on Mavericks with 8GB RAM and looking forward to an upgrade soon. But I switched to Firefox long, long ago. My observation: (1) Safari uses the most momory efficient in Macs, but some websites don't work properly. (2) FF uses more memory than Safari, but compatibility is much better after v57+. (3) Chrome was great at first, but later became a memory hog and even buggy. Also, they started disliking adblockers (understandably) and kicked them out of Chrome marketplace.
For Galileo, they already made up their mind to award new contracts to French businesses to replace UK (other EU states lack expertise). Access to secure high-res signals are now under debate. However, to avoid paying UK's money back, they like to keep Britain as as an observer. Now, T.May has to decide whether to take this, or insist for the money back. US is waiting for the right 'bad' moment to strike a deal with the UK, like the ones that they did during WW2. Penicillin was made available free of cost, and yet UK had to borrow war ships on a long-term loan. $10b alternative to GPS is a bad idea.
We already have Galileo support in newer phones - such as the OnePlus 5T. It depends on the underlying chipset. Almost all phones would support it later this year I hope. By using multiple systems (GPS, GLONASS, Galileo) and triangulating the signal using software we can achieve a high location accuracy.
- I have Nexus too, but use the quickcharge USB more than the wireless charging. It is just much faster than wireless.
- Removable battery? Ii's getting less likely than it can be the case in future. Brands claim thinner phones and better packaging of components. But, the real reason is that they want to buy a new phone every 2-3 years, by making it nearly impossible to replace battery without breaking the phone.
- Some use the same login for screens and the shell (glass shell).
@JimboSmith: Sure, it is a tad higher cost. But, I'd say that the SalesRep did not have the knowledge (or pretend to be unaware) of what's possible. Basically, with FTTP, you pay for the broadband only for the provider which is £40 (still a bit high). You can have an almost free VOIP phone (as many independent lines as you want) even with a free incoming number (eg, SipGate). I don't work for them BTW.
And, you can have a good mobile signal at home indoors through your broadband. There are some cheap devices that the providers offer or you can use an App through WiFi.
I am on FTTP now. BT is a bit expensive but their other company Plusnet offers a cheap trial. No phone line but have a couple of VOIP phones.
