Laugh now, but consider this their first entry into the market. It's a swing and miss overall, except for a few very narrow use cases. They'll learn and get better as AWS marches further into full vertical integration. In 10 years, lookout!

Will the archival nature of tape ever make it obsolete though? Isn't there still demand for a simple, locked snapshot in time? The worry is that if it's on disk and on-the-ready, can it be altered? We all hate tape for the reliability and other assorted PITA reasons, but it's great for evidentiary reasons. Ask the bobbies.. http://www.bbc.com/news/magazine-20556330

There will be appetite for smaller planes as they can place cheaper pilots with lower benefits, and cheaper landing & parking fees. The other factor is that there are a limited number of routes (IE: only so many flights per day), forcing the equation in the other direction - higher seat density.
