Re: Foresight

You'd think so wouldn't you. But that doesn't create headlines. "Company A calls for rebate based on contract in place with Company B". Headlines would make you think that business is done over a beer and a handshake at the pub for things of this magnitude.

Why are not more devices getting their power from PoE? Things like network video cameras for security have been PoE for ages. Or power induction like the charging pads for latest fondleslab phones, but focused such that you can place the power on one side and the device on the other.

Batteries just seems like such an odd choice here when there are existing solutions in the market.

It would have to be mostly Sun hardware for Telco's as Oracle dropped -48VDC so very quickly - with the B6000 being the last standing item and even then you were still getting 6+ year old blades to run in them.

If nbn™ can't say when it will arrive in your street, you're getting a Telstra HFC connection

So glad I managed to get DOCSIS 3.0 Cable to my house after too long dealing with ADSL2+ issues, particularly after a heavy rain. the ~30Mbit down and 1Mbit up sucks though. Supposedly next year we'll get DOCSIS 3.1; which will get us availability of symmetrical services - but naturally I don't think those will be available here.
