I've been using my trusty Panasonic bread machine for several years now, experimenting just as you said ( although I did once forget to add water and wondered what the strange smell coming from the machine was.)

I've found adding 50g of Porridge oats to the mix gives a lovely crunchy crust.

Ah, Milton Keynes Shopping Centre. I knew it briefly but well, and still shudder at the memory.

In the 1980's and as a much younger and more naive man I accepted an invitation to compete in an indoor race to be held at the shopping centre.

Laps, around the inside of the shopping centre, on marble, for 24 hours. The changing / rest facilities were up a flight of stairs. What could possibly go wrong.

It took months for the legs to recover, but on a positive note I did learn to be more circumspect in what I took on, plus I managed to memorise most of the prices in the shop windows that I ran past ;-)

I was due a refund from D Bahn as my train was delayed at Frankfurt on a Journey from Berlin to Bruxelles. I took the form to my Nationwide Branch as I needed the IBAN or BIC and they said they still use the Midland Bank code.

I used to arrive at work every day before the boss, pop into his office and phone the dedicated Channel Tunnel construction line to hear a recorded announcement giving the progress of the North and South running tunnels IIRC.

It was only a couple of months ago that I got to travel on Eurostar from Bruxelles to London. Unfortunately I was that knackered that I fell asleep shortly after leaving Bruxelles and when I awoke we were in England so I never got to see the fish ;-)

My daughter has trained her cat to use one of these. When I visit it is pretty surreal to be lying in bed and hearing the cat taking a piss in the toilet next door, especially as due to my advancing years the bastards flow rate is greater than mine.

I have had several Garmin watches over the years and the GPS drains the battery in a matter of hours.

I'm currently using the 235 and it lasts a good week with Bluetooth. GPS uses about 10% battery per hour.

You will get more GPS life using one of the Triathlon watches but even then you'll be lucky to get 14-16 hours.
