Re: well as other serious cross-border crimes....
Sorry, I can't take that bet. it would be a crime for me.

If SnOracle had so many great ideas stolen by Google, where is a comparable product? where is the mobile OS? If anything Google is guilty of making a remix, and Micro$oft has done that a few times. No problem, right? I know that is oversimplifying a bit, but at least Apple actually has some working hardware & software to compare to. Should it be a crime to copy a style? (such as Samsung did) This whole debate seems largely philosophical now.
a quick check of wikipedia says this about reentry: "The vehicle started encountering more significant air density in the lower thermosphere at about 400,000 ft (120 km), at around Mach 25..." But that was while drastically slowing down, unlike the DARPA thing which continued to haul ass for a while.
started the live cd in an old emachine with a decent graphics card connected to 1080 hdtv and it ran smooth. Tried to boot on my '04 poweredge with a self-adjusting monitor capable of resolutions better than 1080 and the monitor shows "input not supported" WTF!? That has NEVER come up before with anything on said monitor. (yet another reason to leave 14 on that server? or perhaps gnome3 just doesn't belong anywhere near my desk)
"DDT can still be effective against resistant mosquitoes,[98] and the avoidance of DDT-sprayed walls by mosquitoes is an additional benefit of the chemical.[96] For example, a 2007 study reported that resistant mosquitoes avoided treated huts." http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/DDT#Mosquito_resistance
can't see any benefit for trying to have as many people as possible on this planet? Easy; colonization of those nearby 100 earth-like planets without a serious genetic bottleneck. We're going to need alot of people to throw at that challenge someday. Especially if we are to overpopulate the natives, assuming there are any.
Why do so many people wrongly assume the "consensus" is unanimous? I mean even if we accept that we impact this planet in many ways, there is no universally accepted method of how to control the weather, or if nature can/will right itself as it has many times before humans existed. There is still a debate and the data gathering continues to clear our understanding. Why do so many people insist on assuming the hypothesis is correct before the result is known? That is not science. If you are not questioning the information being fed to you, then climatology may as well be scientology.
Wipeout 1080p @ 60FPS
debate all you want about how it happens, but it happens.
Developers are lazy as possible when it comes to porting too and figure most people can't tell the difference anyway. They're right. most people don't bother to look on the back of the box to read the resolution spec.
you know it won't stop anything. Kids/young adults will go on thinking they are indestructible no matter how many serve time. If anything that will only stir up moar activists. The US is all too happy to hand out death sentences to murderers, but that hasn't put a stop to murder.
and a treadmill for quadriplegics? shooting range for the blind? MP3 player for the deaf? how about a division of amputees in the "special" forces?
I'm not discriminating, I'm empowering them right?
How about Samsung make a gesture recognizing TV that recognizes black people. Start small, right?
How do they come up with this stuff?
CFC's were phased out & replaced by HCFC's, which still deplete ozone (just not near as much). Now we are phasing those out for HFC's which have no reaction with ozone, but they are greenhouse gasses. All of these are heavier than air, which begs the question: how do they effect the upper atmosphere? BTW CFC's are much more efficient refrigerants, which would save electricity and material consumption if they were used again in modern equipment.
Perhaps their PCs would turn a profit if people had some reason to hope those PCs would last anywhere near as long as the HP Printers. The quality of their servers & printers really makes it seem like they are made by a different company. Maybe the PC tentacle will learn a thing or two
