Yeah, that Zoom app you're trusting with work chatter? It lives with 'vampires feeding on the blood of human data'

Re: What are the alternatives?

We're looking into jitsi.org it's open source and can be run in-house.

Red panic: Best Buy yanks Kaspersky antivirus from shelves

Who knew?

Proof that there is upward job mobility at Best Buy.

Their worthless idiot salespeople have clearly moved into purchasing.

Quick Inquiry?

I've recently found myself out of work (no connection), will there be any new job openings? I really need something and promise to work harder than most applicants and for a much lower paycheck.

Thanks for your time.

Internet handover is go-go-go! ICANN to take IANA from US govt

Hmmm...

While a nice idea, I have doubts regarding long-term results. I'm thinking politics and money will not act in the best interests of open communication and on-line freedom.

Dark web drug sellers shutter location-tracking EXIF data from photos

Simple editing

All EXIF data should indicate photos were taken at a local government, court or law enforcement building. Probably about 30% of the child porn already does, but I'm suggesting falsifying data.

Hang on a second

Isn't this the same company that spent a year just trying to give their software away (and making a lot of angry customers in the process)?

Tech titans demand free speech law to head off President Trump

Not so fast...

I find it distressing that anyone would think this is a good thing. I mean sure, it sounds nice, but to believe that the US congress will simply pass a law without adding a bunch of nonsense to it is being naive. The faster it needs to pass (Hurry, hurry!) the more favors are needed and we end up with something dreadful that would never stand on it's own (like Feinstein's anti-encryption idea). The SCOTUS was made to deal with these kinds of issues. Slow yes, but more likely (not guaranteed) to get it right.

Microsoft's Windows 10 nagware storms live TV weather forecast

$&%#! Microsoft!

"Don't you just love when that happens?" says the presenter with a good natured smile.

What do you suppose she was really thinking? How much of her audience was thinking the same thing?

Does anyone, ANYONE at Microsoft realize what a laughingstock this has become.

A client of mine asked me how Microsoft believes they can charge for Windows 10 after July when they've clearly established it's not worth paying for?

How to not get pwned on Windows: Don't run any virtual machines, open any web pages, Office docs, hyperlinks ...

What tha..?

I'm a bit disappointed, I was presented with 13 updates for Windows 7 but not one critical, crucial, vital, essential, important, significant, major, decisive, historic (Guess who found his Thesaurus?), fateful, pivotal, precarious, urgent, serious, compelling patch to sneak in their GWX malware.

A month without the little cat & mouse game? Someone at Microsoft should lose their job due to this oversight. We know its not because they're listening to their customers.
