That petition is probably click-bait for data harvesting run by an affiliation of data farmers (or to be sold off later)
So, what of the business enterprises, educational institutes, health services, govt dept's and small businesses who have already paid for ESU 'extended security updates' via microsoft?

Brave is FASTER by comparison to other 'blink rendering' browsers and probably the fastest browser out there but,
at the expense of should you need to uninstall it for some reason or other..big problems arise ;) other than the eventual
blocking of blockers.
FF 60+ is bloated and slower than FF ESR 60.x which is a good choice (linux and windoze),
purely down to blocker extension and security only updates. YMMV
My fond memories of tech wars was the graphics cards of the 90's, when 3DFX, ATI, PowerVR, nvidia, Matrox all competed for best eyecandy games like Quake, Duke Nukem 3D, Half-life/ Counterstrike that were legends of their time.
BTW I had all these cards at one time or another during that era obviously the 3DFX Voodoo's were a class above for gamers. Just wish I'd invested some hard earned into nvidia prior to the announcement that they had bought over 3DFX

Auto updates have been off since they retired their QA / Testing dept.
Now got to the stage no-matter whether W7, W8 or W10, MS STILL send out buggy patches on patch tuesday. I seen this coming back in 2013 and made the slow gradual shift to the 'OS of the gods' with only one device left only testing MS orientated crapware, spyware, telemetry and store apps in readiness for a funeral pyre.

Used Foxit pdf reader within the previous decade for a bit which inevitably turned into bloatware and was dropped much like Adobe Reader years prior to that.

Lenovo are not helping themselves by locking hardware to Operating Systems on certain PC's.
Then to blame the OS license agreement, when it's their configuration of a single drive raid device whereby other OSes can't be installed (yet) all for the sake of intel Power Management.

Not surprised Google Chrome have dropped support for XP but, Microsoft Vista's extended support doesn't end until 11th April 2017 for SP2 so it looks like a few will jump to either Firefox, Opera, Midori or alternative browsers in the meantime. There are still alot of PC/ Laptop users on Vista who don't want to upgrade (albeit a transitional OS like Windows ME)

Yup, BBC web site is one of the worst that I also use with the same results, black boxes obscuring photos and vids. Leaves MUCH to be desired..come on BBC, get your finger out! The BBC HTML5 transition seems to be taking forever..
A name and shame web site list would be a nice global White-hat website.
I don't claim to be an expert but, this seems to me to be an undermining attempt to get surfers to abandon something that works. (Fear is the key which seems to work in this age)
So using Tor with noscript and https everywhere is unsafe? yeah right..
I'd be more worried about the avenue Microsoft is pursuing and what the future holds for privacy and the impending data breach of YOUR data on THEIR systems.
