The snide comments in this 'article' would have some merit if you actually described your testing credentials. If you had an inkling of what it takes to test something this complex you might take a less sarcastic approach.
I was Defect Manager on a 3 year project of considerably less complexity and had to 'handle' >25,000 defects. Trying to understand the impact of some vaguely written report is not a trivial task so I feel for what the Windows team has to put up with.

For all the whiners complaining about MS, consider that Apple donates nothing whatsoever to non-profits. So if you are concerned about charities being impacted, check to see if they buy that overpriced,not-fit-for-commercial-use stuff.

Sadly there is a predilection for people who believe a false 'truth' to not be swayed by actual facts to the contrary, it actually entrenches their incorrect beliefs. Even though *nix has lots of fixes each month for vulnerabilities it remains perfect in the eyes of its believers. Apple has its share as well so really there is no safe OS.
In the case of TPP there are side letters for each country that do exactly what you say isn't possible. Pretty much each country carved out a few things that it would not cave on. So Canada got to keep its Notice-Notice system because it was already in place but none of the other signatories could adopt it. Instead they had to adopt the seriously flawed US Notice-Takedown system.
For those not aware, this means if someone decides they don't like what is on your web site, a letter to your ISP will result in the site being taken offline. You can then try to fight that, which of course takes lawyers and $$$. So in essence it is often a bully tactic. Guilty until proven innocent.
Except that is wasn't secret to the corporate interests in the US and even Canada. Each country had to bend over and take whatever the US wanted to give, as someone earlier indicated it was an export of US laws to rule the world. The complexity of the document and its required massive increase in bureaucracy is not about simplifying anything, it is about ruling the roost. E.gThe US retained the right to determine if country x's implementation was good enough, after the treaty was ratified!!! Talk about over ruling each and every government involved.
Items such a Notice and Takedown were acknowledge not to be effective and indeed subject to regular abuse. Canada's Notice and Notice system is even lauded by US media corps, but no one else can implement it if part of the TPP signatories. The side letters are amazing to read by themselves.

What if all the media not invited just don't report on anything from the unveiling? Apple needs to get their head out of the clouds, and that would certainly deflate them a bit further. You (The Register) are after all providing them free advertising by your reviews, something for which you don't even get one of their samples.

I doubt companies look at where you live, you don't need to provide that information. The do look at qualifications, in some cases to an extreme no doubt.
When I was hiring developers, designers and architects I looked at qualifications but experience and more importantly attitude is what tipped the balance.

You will find MSFT very active as part of Alljoyn. They supplied source for several parts and you will find Alljoyn modules in Windows 10 desktop and Windows IoT for amongst other boards the Raspi.

Yes, I have done lots of coding and design over the past 48 years of work including safety sensitive stuff like DICOM image transfer protocols and even helped write the MR and CT storage chapters. You know, things like when you get left and right reversed on an image it actually alters someones life, like doing surgery on the wrong knee. So when I hear 'just try the latest' it means they are too lazy/incompetent to figure out what the problem is and then apply a fix. If you can't reproduce it, then you won't know if you fixed the problem. As the US military found out years ago, Hope Is Not A Method.
If sw developers built bridges there would be a lot fewer people on earth. Well meaning, no doubt motivated but not disciplined.
