Terry Pratchett donates £500k to Alzheimer's charity

jason lee

While I don't donate cash...

As I'm unemployed and have limited income as it is - I do donate my spare CPU time to the folding@home project http://folding.stanford.edu/ which it's main headling is "Our goal: to understand protein folding, misfolding, and related diseases" which covers Alzheimers and many more.

I've done this for years as an aid towards science - even before I learned my favorite author was diagnosed - and will continue to do so.

Hoping some (or most) will download and help this project.

@Edward Miles

She did know this would eventualy happen In The End, and while she was doing this it it was her Cure For The Itch.

With his wife, she was probably trying to show her Points Of Authority, and probably failed badly I assume.

And all she wanted was for him to say "please be a Part Of Me" but now she's going to a "Place For My Head"

The coat over there please - with the bullseye on the back. ;)

Heart

For all the fans...

Like myself I would ask all to be glad that for now he is well and happy, that he is optimisticly looking forward to the future and has some time to enjoy before his troubles hit him.

I would ask - even if Mr TP (Terry Pratchett - NOT to be mistaken with anything to do with near the lower body) has not asked - if you feel to donate towards an Alzheimers charity - either cure or support or whatever you wish - please do so.

I'm sure Moist Von Lipwig would aprove* (honest :) )

All the best Terry - for now and always from one of many loyal and devoted fans.

Re: techno wha?

I agree with you - I mean I'm only one person who likes to access my documents ect wherever possible - I'm not techno-internet/networking-savy but I know of three little letters.

VPN - Virtual Private Network.

If I was to send/recieve something I would do so at least double encrypted - one by VPN and the second via ZIP/RAR format.

Is Security such a big word for the Government and all others? Or can they spell Post Office quicker?

Re: BOFH

I heard it was the PFY's birthday again, funded by - as you say - the boss's credit card and assisted by the secretary pool. ;)
