NASA's Curiosity puts cat among the climate pigeons: Lack of CO2 sinks water theory

Black Rat
Alien

Obvious Really

Our alien lizard overlords wanted more beach-front basking property on Earth so they simply removed the water from Mars. This flowed from the stargate portal at Giza into the Nile and caused the previously unexplained water erosion of the Sphinx enclosure.

What happens in Vegas doesn't stay in Vegas: Razer prototypes nicked

Re: Have you heard this one?

Same here running a Triptych of 22"s in the office mostly coding and website related stuff that requires a real time eye. Couple of years back though I was lucky enough to meet 'Kohai' one of the staffers from Chess.com, an amazing woman with insane levels of multi tasking skill who was running a five screen monster at home. Simultaneously handling customer support from billing to technical SNAFU's, overseeing the forum/chat mayhem and somehow finding time to bug test the next code push.

So yeah there's definitely a market for the little Razer.

Google scraps its Project Ara modular smartphone wheeze

Black Rat

On the surface a modular smart-phone does seem to be a rat hole engineering project. However for long duration space missions, Martian colonies etc where replacing defective gear is bit more tricky then the concept of interchangeable components has some merit. Apollo 13's air filters being a classic example.

Drones coming home to roost

Some regulation is definitely needed especially with the lager commercial drones, though I doubt it will do any good. Between over enthusiastic idiots buzzing airports, the criminally insane, basic home grown whack jobs or terrorists etc it's not IF a drone will cause bloody mayhem but WHEN. With a semi-pro drone costing under £5k being capable of carrying 3-4 kilos of payload plus a camera the possibilities for an atrocity are truly terrifying.

Humans still have their uses

A few years ago Crediton dairy used to employ half a dozen fleshy meatbags from the Job Centre to load milk cartons onto pallets because it was cheaper than the running costs of the robotic stacker & qualified operator. Out of curiosity I just had a quick scan of low end agency job vacancies being offered in the Exeter area and it looks as if they are still doing it.
