The US can't plan a long term strategy worth a damn, they don't even realize all the tariffs do is to make China putting even more effort into their developing their high tech industries to reduce foreign dependence as if they aren't already massively into doing it already.

I live in Singapore, and now Shenzhen makes it look like a backwater. For those still underestimating China as a sh**hole, let them enjoy being clueless for now because they won't even know what's gonna hit them in the next decade.

At this point everyone regards US sanctions as some random stray dog barking down their street.

Firstly, virtually all SSD failures aren't due write endurance limits, and overall they are a magnitude more reliable than HDDs on a normalized timeframe. Google proved that in their 2016 paper.

Secondly, people are still beating the endurance boogeyman for consumer drives intended, you know, for consumers with inane arguments like "how would I trust my $10000+ intensive I/O critical operation on a <$200 consumer SSD with relative low write endurance?".

Thirdly, I'm not interested in any Samsung consumer SSDs, QLC or not, because they are always overpriced to their competitors.

Because the East Asian governments have the patience and insight to build up their manufacturing bases while shrewd enough to shield them with quiet protectionism, than to engage in #1221312312424 political outrage of the week of schizophrenic Western democracies.

The real irony is how we were able to get to the moon in the 1960-70s but yet we can't do it now despite with our massively more collective global wealth. I think I know the answer why: unbridled capitalism concentrates said wealth into the hands of the few, who has no vision with their money other than getting more of it while spending them on their 1000th real estate, luxury yachts and Ferraris.

I drive and rely a lot on Google Maps in a city where GPS multipath interference is supposed to hurt but yet I never had navigational errors from GPS inaccuracies in current gen phones. It's always things like unreported road closures and non-updated landmark changes.

Then again common sense works a whole lot better when near a destination than blindly relying on GPS.

Is ~30cm accuracy a good thing? Of course. But will I pay more for it, not really...It's the good enough adage all over again.

In my book, anybody strictly adhering to the "Expensive = good" mantra is a sucker with their money soon parted. I got an SSD bracket from an Ebay china seller which is the exact the same thing, minus the marketing, as a Corsair branded unit except at 1/4 of the price.
