Often turned off so people can use third party TV and movie steaming apps which aren't in the Play Store.
I'm not sure that there is a dependency between the Play Protect functionality and whether or not you enable sideloading. I suspect that play protect continues to scan the apps you have installed from the Play store. I would think that you implicitly accept some responsibility for assessing third-party sourced apps
Maybe it's time to set up my own forecasting company.
I may be able to help with that. I have a report that contains information that I forecast is worth alt least GBP3000 to everyone who reads it. For GPB50000 I will license it to you to resell. You should be able to resell it for at least GBP2000 per person given the value of the information it contains.
**Important** the information above is definitely not the information in the report.
It works well enough to deliver a benefit the interests investing in it and the costs of its failure are imposed on people that don't matter.
As a commercial landlord, if you correctly tag 50% of troublemakers and dispatch a mall cop to kick them off your premises that's a win for you. If you also incorrectly tag the same number of people the mall cop can simply pull his punch if the subject looks obviously affluent/white/middle class and for the others, nobody cares unless society provides an accessible mechanism for them to obtain redress which won't happen often enough for the landlord to be incentivised to change their approach.

My point is, Haters Gonna Hate. Killers Gonna Kill. And there isn't much you can do to stop someone that determined without crossing moral event horizons. Which is it going to be: chaos or the police state?
And yet limiting access to guns correlates pretty well with significantly lower gun death rates for the rest of the world. What you have there sounds like a false dichotomy.
If you start tracking bathroom usage people are just going to start pooping in pots and throw it in the garbage can.
If that replaced using the floor and they managed it without any wall smearing, that would be a win at some of the places I have had the misfortune of working at. I always check the toilets before deciding whether to use the shared kitchens
When I still lived in That London, an elderly neighbour used to through food over the chainlink fence that separated the end of our terrace's back gardens from the railway corridor. The foxes used to show up roughly on time showing little nervousness around humans. I presume they never attempted to breach the fence because they were happy with the arrangement or were simply too fat to be able to manage it any more.
We have made the necessary remediation in our Flighting service and have implemented additional changes to help prevent from this happening in the future. We apologize for any troubles this may have caused for affected Insiders and appreciate your assistance in bringing this to our attention so we could make the necessary changes as quickly as possible.
This is PR gold. Can I steal this? (asking for Boeing a friend)
Johnson may be a buffoon, but he has a lot of charisma. I'm not suggesting we give him a free pass to do whatever he wants, but if he tries to get people to work together for all our sakes then perhaps we should at least support that.
Johnson's charisma is basically the difference between him and Trump. I also resent the suggestion that he should be supported simply because he is (likely to be the next leader of) the government and the implication that not to do so is some sort of treachery that will be to blame for any future problems with his economic policy
Yeah, but you don't read El Reg to find out about the dangers of Viruses you may have contracted and the spreading of such infections around your population
I don't but my friend has a few questions about an embarrassing medical complaint.
if they can insert tracking pixels *into* a message then they have access to the plaintext ?
Teh article doesn't make it clear but this service is a gmail plugin that tarts the experience up a bit and tries to add a bit of value by making it simpler to carry out repetitive tasks. The privacy moan was about privacy of people you are sending mail to as it implements tracking pixels in your outgoing mail by default rather than defaulting to off and using the actual standards based read receipt headers (maybe because most sane mail servers either ignore them or allow the recipient to control them)
Are you confusing the gendered terms misandry/misogyny with misanthropy?
I can't speak for all 60 million Brits but I am certainly anti-social miserable when dealing with people. I don't save it all for tourists though.
Is pedantry a British trait or just a twat trait?
Although the AoA disagree alert was supposed to display whether or not you had ordered the optional AoA continuous display, apparently there was a bug that meant that the alter was dependent on the optional display in practice:
(source)
>>After deliveries of the 737 Max commenced in 2017, Boeing discovered a software issue prevented the angle-of-attack (AOA) Disagree alert from working if customers had not chosen the optional AOA indicator.
>>“The Boeing design requirements for the 737 Max included the AOA Disagree alert as a standard, standalone feature, in keeping with Boeing’s fundamental design philosophy of retaining commonality with the 737NG,” says the company in a statement issued on 5 May.
>>“Several months” after 737 Max deliveries started in 2017, Boeing engineers discovered that “the 737 Max display system software did not correctly meet the AOA Disagree alert requirements.”
>>“The software delivered to Boeing linked the AOA Disagree alert to the AOA indicator, which is an optional feature on the Max and the NG. Accordingly, the software activated the AOA Disagree alert only if an airline opted for the AOA indicator.”
that reminds me of the lamest feature of my Sony telly. My house has a DTT aerial and a satellite dish. The telly supports both but if you go into the setup menu and enable the Satellite decoder (which was a little fiddly to do) it disables the ITV PLayer app (no great loss in either content or user experience) but teh real stupidz is that every time someone tries to launch the ITV Player app, it disables the satellite decoder again
It is usually quicker to reboot than troubleshoot my Sony Android telly (hold down power button on remote). The telly seems able to bring down the whole LAN sometimes. Also, holding down Home for a few seconds takes you into a task switcher that allows you to kill off apps which can also sometimes help responsiveness. The TV tuner app is shocking though. Lucky broadcast telly is less and less important in my household (telly in general is less and less important but obvs I am tech support to wife and children at home)
There is an alcove in the corner which is out of site of the screen --->
The message says to change your password, but I spent a good 20 minutes on the site last night trying to work out how and where, and was unable to do so...
Duh, change your password on all the other sites where you reused it. The loss of loyalty points redeemable for Pizza Hut pizza's could be seen as its own reward
