Well I am not going to visit the Mail site to check their coverage so I will assume that Mr O has that one right (it agrees with my own predjudices after all) but sadly the BBC has failed to meet his expectations (although they appear to break Betteridge's law)
Furthermore, I don't quite get how the fingerprint is used. It seems to require a permanent connection to check it against MC's servers?
My guess is that the card stores some sort of hash of your finger print and compares this with a hash of the output of its onboard scanner. It seems reasonable that you might have to visit a branch to enroll your finger and load the hash onto the card (which would allow for some sort of greater validation of identity).

Just get a Now TV box. You can pick them up for around £15 in supermarkets when they have them on offer...

I would guess a *lot* will be available on freecysle (&c) just now since the last auto firmware update removed the ability to sideload additional apps (like Plex which was a common use case)
And the search engines aren't helping when they decide that you've mis-spelled something or that what you're really interested in is actually something else, or when it starts to return random rubbish related to one of your search terms when you would really most sincerely rather prefer that it return no results for your carefully-crafted query. Sometimes one feels safer knowing that there are no musical groups comprised of alto clarinets, bagpipes, banjos, and violas.

Nonetheless it is a very visible landmark such as might be used as a locating reference by a non-native although an inadvertent pedestrian traverse of the Blackwall tunnel might explain the authors traumatic memories. Personally I have lots of happy childhood memories of that waterfront at a time when there were still many decaying industrial sites that were accessible to a young explorer

The only possible way the increase could be low-balled like that would be if the contractor thinks that that will push the date (at which the government realises that it is cheaper to write off the entire project than to continue) far enough out that they will be able to invoice more in total

I lolled to myself and thought that too but then I started wondering which was more likely, that a tech briefing would get slightly garbled somewhere between page and mouth or that minister would want us to think that the solution to terrorism was as simple as Twitter blocking the hashtags #isis and #deathtowesterndemocracy and that because Twitter wouldn't do it was fair game for the gov to wade in and demand en end to encryption. Given the mans tenacity in digging into what is presumably a comfortable niche, one wonders why Battistelli simply doesn't behave like such a massive disk to his staff. If they can establish that then I think the authorities should have the right to do so with a court order - otherwise companies would be able to avoid lawful discovery everywhere in the world by keeping data in a different country from its owner.
I think you are rather missing the fundamentals of sovereignty. If the account holders are resident in the US then the appropriate measure would surely be to apply sanctions on them to encourage cooperation. This might be appropriate for non-residents too but would tend to have less value in practice
And why should those of us (both male and female) who choose to persue a career and "go without children" pay extra in taxation so that someone can have free childcare?
I suspect a strictly utilitarian argument would be most to your taste: because optimising the economic activity of your 'free loading' colleagues and their children will likely benefit you in the short term and pay your pension in the long term
