Importantly, it will cover both indirect communication and the creation of fake accounts.
So basically half the Facebook accounts will have to be eliminated?

We're repeatedly told here by commentards that the product was supported for 13 years. So why during those 13 years was it not found and fixed? In all conscience 13 years ought to have been long enough. It sounds like the sort of thing that any static code analysis tool should have highlighted.
Oversight? Or getting some "feedback" from the agencies not to batch as this gave them access? On the MS side, I wonder how many Win10 they will now sell? Too damn many questions, plots, screw-ups, etc. to really know what's going on.
Management everywhere are currently waiting with bated breath for the results of a larger study. Once that's in, they can mandate how much paper you're allowed to use and how often you can use the facilities. And it will all be done in the name of "efficiency" to weed out the malingerers. Oh.. and more profit from the savings on paper and employee time wasted on the porcelain throne.
A pity really. It sounds to me like the days of "Rule Britannia! Britannia rule the waves" are over except in the minds of some political types who perpetuate that belief when what has become a sad state of affairs. I'm saddened by this even though I'm American.
To quote..."veddy interestink". * I find this move fascinating. Someone suggested popcorn and that may be a good idea. Not sure where it will go if anywhere but it is an interesting turn of events given all the re-election wrestling matches, both pre- and post-, by both parties.
Will Congress get to the bottom of all the allegations? Maybe, maybe not. The bigger question is will they follow the Warren Commission and lock up all findings in the National Archive after doing their usual political song and dance?
*Artie Johnson on Laugh-In circa 1967 or so.
We're missing a few commentards input on this.
Seriously, if the allegations are true of what the candidates/elected officials did are true, there should be justice. As for those who hacked and released.. they need to shot at sunrise. Politics has to be the messiest thing in the world.
And yes, I'm well aware that dirty tricks, etc. in politics/elections have been going on in almost all if not all countries since the first election was held.. It still doesn't justify it or make it right.
Good thoughts though maybe unworkable. I know of two non-profit orgs that offer boilerplate text for issues pertaining their members. Neither org is considered small with one having something like 5 million members. The catch is, many folks have no clue how to write a letter to government on challenging something thus, the cut and paste boiler plate.
Bottom line... there may not be a one size fits all solution to this problem and it is a real problem.
The real question is, what will they do with all that money, since (presumably) lawbots will have no use for Bentleys, mansions, yachts, etc.
Two possibilities.. though there might be more:
a) The profits will go to their human owners.
b) They (the bots) will re-invest, build bots of their choosing and eliminate humans.
In all fairness .. if Hillary had been elected, I'd still be snarky and someone else instead of you would be rising to the defense.
Yes, there is a problem with the system that goes back to Washington. They all have put friends, relatives, etc. into positions that many of them weren't even remotely qualified to hold. Some presidents were worse than others on this but they all did it. It's history and not much will change.
John,
Look at history if you like.. not just Trump. Kennedy was blatant about "family" in the inner office, for example. Hillary would have had her "friends" entrenched. Just about every president has had similar people in high placed positions. Are these the right people for the job? Hell, I don't know.
Snark aside... look at the people (and not just women) he surrounds himself with. See a pattern?
Aside from wanting to be noticed, Catz needs some Trump currency in her back pocket
She might be tall and lithe, but not a blonde like the rest of the influential females surrounding Trump. Yeah.. sexist but look at that those he's surrounded himself with... if male.. wealthy to the extreme, if female, tall, blondes... What's wrong with this picture?
Up until a few decades ago, there was mixed drink called a "Horse's Neck"... non-alcoholic and those around you were seldom the wiser. It was great to attend a "business meetings" and while everyone else got passing out drunk, you could remain sober. It was a favorite of old-time sales types. Get the client tanked while remaining unaffected. At the proper moment, get the "client" to sign the contract.
Not that I am denying the Chinese copy. But stylistic copying happens all the time. We call it fashion.
Maybe it's just me.. but when I think "copy" there's more than just style. How about engineering? The guts that are hidden? If seen more than a few things the Chinese have ripped off that on the surface look "different" yet inside is another story.
Hell... in the laser cutter world, they're ripping each other off. One maker designs a new tube or power supply and two weeks later, there's a bunch of copycat "equivalents" out there.
So why would they treat car and aircraft designs differently?
As a contractor here in the US. I can tell you that if you want to succeed, you need to build at least 6 months of reserves and then some. You also need to maintain your skills so that you can get billed out for top dollar and do things that may not directly make money but also add to your brand.
The above should be a cardinal rule for any contract worker. It's self defense and planning ahead for the "just in case..." scenario. It got me through some rough times as a contractor and some others I know.
The concept of "dispute" makes me raise my eyebrows. Back about 20 years ago I did the "contractor" thing (but on the engineering side of thing). I got out of that gig because suddenly there was a "dispute" and no one got paid. They danced like this for 2 weeks until it came out that the owner had cleaned out the accounts and headed off to a "safe" country. I do hope that's not the case here.
Damn it... we need a "thousand upvote" button.
Not just banks, but insurance companies, retail business.. just about everything. This stuff scares the crap out of me and makes me want to kill all credit cards and as much banking as I can... cash only but that's not an option.
I quite agree being in deep southern Oregon myself... unfortunately close that down state haven for wackos of all ilks, Ashland. Go to Eugene and points north and it's la-la land for sure. I keep hoping that the Feds will allow downstate Oregon and upstate Caliornia to secede from their states and merge as many people want. They even have a name planned.. the State of Jefferson.
Addendum... the panhandlers are a "protected" species it seems. I can't remember not seeing them at every intersection in the state.
I agree with you on this. I've left a few companies for a job in the same industry because I didn't like the way company A treated me or others. Went to company B and all was good.
I'll note that worked for established companies and not startups. There do seem to be more than a few bad apples to work for in the startup sector.
I think the issue is "Trump advocates".... are these voters or appointees? If it's the context of voters, it's flat wrong, though we'll have to wait and see what our fellow commentards that were rabin during the election have to say.
It's a war of words and ideologies in DC right now. The career elected types against the upstart and those career elected types even on the Repub side of the aisle are not 100% behind dear leader on all issues nor do they fall into the party line because someone said so.
It appears things may settle down some with more time, but who knows which way things will go anymore?
Disclaimer: at this point, I'm not a Repub or a Dem. but a free agent who looks at issues, not parties.
