I am during the process of migration from Windows 10 to Ubuntu. The Ubuntu laptop upgrades often but with no surprises (except for the fact that it requires a reboot much often than the Redhat machines I used to administer at work. But Windows is of course a constant source of surprises. Yes, I did the sequence of command lines to increase the RE partition. It did work but (obviously) only after a reboot.
So the bottom line is that in the olden days Window upgrades worked pretty easily but needed reboots while Linux needed a lot of commandline tweaks to make some updates work. Now it is the other way.
You must be American to write such nonsenses about trains. Especially since when are buses (or cars) safer than trains?
In the European Union trains and planes are the two safest options (0.035 deaths per 100 million passenger kilometers), followed by bus and coach (0.07), ferry (0.25) and car (0.7). In other words, trains are as safe as planes, twice safer that buses and 20 times safer than cars.

With an obvious psychopath running SpaceX it does make sense. I do acknowledge the quality of Falcon launchers but Elon did not seem that eccentric a few years ago, comparing to recent months. However, the bean-counter run Boeing seems not to be the best alternative possible. Maybe even the worst.
I use it on my Android phones if someone sends me an invitation to a Teams meeting. Because I have no Microsoft account, I usually manage to join the meeting only after the fifth attempt on the second phone I try it (the older one). But I'm not surprised because it is a Microsoft product.
When I asked ChatGPT if the AIs can cause human extinction it waited for a very long time and gave me an answer arguing it is "relatively unlikely". I ask how relatively and then got an apparently pre-prepared (no delay) answer about no need to worry if the AIs are written in ethical way. Not very encouraging, in my opinion.
