Mozilla whips out Rusty new Firefox Quantum (and that's a good thing)

nubwaxer

i always counted on the Image Zoom extension and now that it no longer works there is nothing like it anymore. i tried several, all crap. you'd think it would be easy to zoom in or out on an image but apparently not.

i don't find quantum at all faster.

i tried 57 quantum beta. it sucks. when it freezes and i turn to task manager to close it my CPU usage is at 100%. my Xfinity TV listings will not load although the page did load after a long wait if i use my VPN and locate myself in Switzerland.

the browsers behave so differently that i use Opera for FB, which means videos won't stream and GIFs won't move. i had to open Chrome to get my TV listings but i've read Chrome is a memory hog. FF for everyday use. i think too many tabs causes it to freeze. how many are too many? the last one you just opened every time.

you know what, some people don't have a DVR and download tv programs included in their cable subscription they either missed or want to watch later.

i uninstalled kaspersky and now webroot antivirus pops up a warning that it blocks this coin hive ripoff.

BlackBerry DTEK 50: How badly do you want a secure Android?

my moto g4 has the same specs for $200 without all the spy gimmicks the BB has. i'm a nobody so i don't need them but i could encrypt my phone but i don't want to because i'm a nobody. i do my online banking using a wired internet connection.

i finally paid for the highest rated internet security program and i couldn't be happier. i'd mention the company but i'm not working for them or anyone else. just use google for best internet security or best antivirus.

Mud sticks: Microsoft, Windows 10 and reputational damage

nubwaxer

i'm trying windows 10 on my 8+ year old netbook with disappointing results. i upgraded memory to 2 gb and changed to a 7,200 rpm hard drive. slow death.

and what's up with intel only supporting W10 with their new processors? will AMD do that as well?

How Microsoft will cram Windows 10 even harder down your PC's throat early next year

nubwaxer

i'm trying w10 on my 10 year old netbook and it lags a bit. otherwise it's the same old windows as '98, 2,000, xp, vista, and w7. the only thing is they try to drive you crazy by making you hunt for the same functions that all previous editions have had. for example, want to change your background wallpaper? it took me half and hour online to find out how to do it. it seems the "action center" is now a second control panel just for aggravation's sake it seems.

Next year's Windows 10 auto-upgrade is MSFT's worst idea since Vista

nubwaxer

nothing new in w10 that i need. no compelling reason whatsoever to upgrade. i installed w10 on my netbook but it would not allow me a dual boot option to have both w7 and w10. to hall with that.

FCC to Obama on net neutrality: We work for CONGRESS, SIR, not YOU

Re: Reports to Congress?

congress represents their political contributors. the president once again speaks for the middle class. i would strongly support the president firing ex telecom lobbyist wheeler if that were possible.

it seems the author's efforts in his creative writing class have made him a self satisfied and just too clever for his own good writer

Microsoft Surface: Designed to win, priced to fail

$500 with the real keyboard cover. different color? $20 extra. then enough free apps to make it competitive.

i'm looking forward to the 10" google nexus tablet that will sell far below ipad and ms surface.
