I dont get how Apple Pay is more secure than carrying your credit card in your pocket.

With my card, its a physical card, it has my signature, chip and a PIN number to verify that it is in fact me using a physical card.

With Apple Pay, the physical card is not present. It looks like all you need is a PHOTO of the card to load it into Apple Pay, and the SSN's last four digits.

To compare, that would be like me giving the card to a friend along with the PIN number and telling them to go buy something for me.

I'm sure all contactless payment systems may have the same problem, although it seems that Paypal and Google Wallet may not have had it to this extent. This could be either due to Google's registration process or through low usage. I dont know how rampant fraud was with GW.

I guess "ease of use" and "ease of fraud" go hand in hand

Is this similar to Apple's taking of existing technology and packaging it into a new patent..? I mean, think of all of Apples's patents, phone, watch etc. I mean a rectangular phone with rounded corners (no phone was completely square, everything is rounded to some degree), existed before, but they did "patent" it..

They also take existing technology, put it in conjunction with something else and patent the lot.. What's different in this case?

People are making money on Youtube. The company made some money, and spent it on upgrades to its service. El Reg spins that as "no one is making any money".

And all the anti-Google shills jump on the bandwagon.

I guess you would have had to

1) Root the phone

2) Install the app

3) Blindly give the app root permissions when it asks for it

Doesnt impact the huge percentage of unrooted phones then does it?

In some ways his running of the site is the cause of his sentence too. He created the site with the EXPLICIT purpose of shaming people's exes. If he created a site for people to share vacation photos and people exploited it, that's something else.

It's the difference between The Pirate Bay creating a FILE sharing site for people to share files (which some people "misuse" to share movies and music) and creating a MOVIE sharing site for people to share and pirate movies. Guess which one is going to get a harsher sentence from a judge?

Umm, if I have the entire city of london on screen, and I want to zoom into the docklands, I have to constantly keep moving the screen and rezooming in again.
