Google staff who work from home might see pay cut under corporate policy – reports

rtb61
Devil

Labour Laws

Class action law suit time. Law broken, underpayment. The employee is entitled to the cost of provisioning that space, no different to any other commercial property. So effectively the corporations stole rent from the workers pay, the worker got paid less because they had to pay the cost of provisioning of office and equipment. How much would that space cost, effectively deducted from the employees wages.

Ow-wei, says Huawei as Chinese giant admits US sanctions smacked it right in the phone biz

rtb61

The Opposite Now Preffered Purchase

With Google off that phone, a Huawei phone is now my number one choice and it is likely to be a Linux Phone, Huawei should avoid an odd name for the OS and instead go with Huawei Linux, very much more business like.

Depending one what other Linux Phones turn up, Huawei is now my number one choice, so sick of privacy, manipulative searches, them fiddling with democracy, that Google represents.

Ideal World vs Real World

Always a good idea to differentiate in your comments and your thoughts between the ideal world and the real world. A lot more can happen ion the ideal world because people can be trusted and in the real world a whole lot needs to be banned because psychopaths and narcissists can absolutely not be trusted and will exploit any one they can including the very young and the very old.

I think Richard forget to reason out and clarify his opinions upon that basis. A lot of people are not mature enough to handle sex below the age of sixteen and many are not mature enough to handle it over the age of 21.

Creative types or Drones

To go back in time, test someone's hair tiny little deposits as it grows and hence they can go back as far as your hair is long. So go private no drug test, get paid more and don't have to work with the professionally paranoid and anally retentive, or get paid less, work with the anally retentive and professionally paranoid and be subject to immediate dismissal in your friends smoke in the same room as you or you walk into a very, very happy coffee bar. Hmm, decisions, decisions.

They can't even contract because of course they will test the contractors.

Something tells me they wont improve their recruitment chances any time soon with that attitude. You either want creative minded people and all the behaviour associated with it or you do not and the anal retentive types and totally uncreative drones.

nbn™ scoreboard: our new way to look at Australia's national broadband network

rtb61

2019 Maybe

I had the horrible fucking crap network, for almost a month before it was decided it was a giant piece of shit and they had to spend, get this from September 2017 to April 2019, to fix, what the Australia government said was worth billions, hmm a year and a half to fix it minimum, wow it must be truly crap. They bought a POS that was going to be scrapped for billions and now have to spend billions more to rebuild it, after already having spent billions trying to patch it, this after trying to compare that decades old POS to a brand new network, claiming both are worth the same, just that the old one is cheaper, er now decades old crap is crap that needs to be replaced because tech have real hard life cycles, so many hours and they will break down.

So waited from 2015 to 2017 for broadband only to have really bad useless crap delivered and then the service cancelled to be rebuilt and not available until 2019, maybe and still be the same crap just rebuilt. What a bargain by the LNP for all Australians but hey the Murdoch family are laughing all the way to the bank, they bought their politicians well.

rtb61

HFC Horrible Fucking Crap

So they spent billions buying the HFC apparently without ever checking it out and PS your pricing model is bullshit it's like comparing an brand new car to a decades old car, electronics have a life.

So comparing a $4,000 brand new connection to a decades old connection costing $2,400 and rapidly rising is a major business lie. Properly amortise the age of HFC and repair and maintenance required when most of the equipment is over a decade old, that $2,400 should be timed by about 3 thank you very much. Most of the HFC is degraded, they are now spending billions repairing and replacing it, and mind you they were going to dump it in the shit state to Australians. In my already supposedly connectible HFC location, they will be spending 6 months fixing it, SIX MONTHS, do you know how much that costs, $2,400 yep uh huh, plus 6 months of contractor labour with overtime.

Overtime is definitely occurring because those NBN dickheads have taken out my ADSL connection repeatedly on weekends, breaking it Saturday morning and fixing it Sunday evening, again and again and again it is getting ridiculous. HFC the biggest fraud in Australian history.

What is missing is what was the response to false positives and exactly how many there were. Not empty percentages but real numbers and records of real actions. How many people where grabbed, thrown to the ground, sexually assaulted (groping counts), illegally kidnapped (false positive) and how many were threatened at gun point, exactly what were those false positives and what were the outcomes and how severe have the penalties been for those false positives, false arrests, false assaults, false kidnappings ie what the fuck where the total number of hours of illegal detention and imprisonment?

Every foreign country involved in your communications infrastructure is a major risk. They have the keys to the kingdom, shut down your digital communications and they shut down your country. The most dangerous weapon now, high altitude EMP detonations.

I would not trust anything coming out of the USA for a second, not in the least, one national security letter and a built in off switch not to mention hacking tools is guaranteed, no warrant, you are a foreigner and you skin might as well be brown, when US corporate profits are on the line.

So design nuclear weapons or mine bitcoin, hmm. So who is worse naughty bitcoin miners or the designers of the extinction of humanity, hmm, let me think, well, jesus, those evil fuckers have got away with profiting from true evil for decades, kick a nuclear weapon designing freak in the balls today, whoops that is a bad thing to write, so I take it back but apparently them making weapons designed to mass murder everyone is to be commended, so irradiating, then setting people on fire and then blowing them up, yahh, I suppose :?.

Huawei claims national security is used as plausible excuse for 'protectionism'

rtb61

National Security - Protectionism

So let me get this straight, national security is not protectionism, wait what. 'ER' yes, the way governments will national secure their digital infrastructure is to ensure that as much of it as possible is produced locally and not under the control of foreign corporations in turn controlled by foreign governments.

If I want a secure safe to put my stuff, I do not contract out the decision for the combination number to a contractor in another country, I come up with one myself.

If you want your digital infrastructure to be as secure as possible, than you have to create as much of it as you can yourself, simply fact of life. So yes that means Free Open Source Software as the proper software model and open electronics design and local plants for high use electronic parts, especially covering communications for what should be self evident reasons but apparently are not.

Are you an open-sorcerer or free software warrior? Let us do battle

rtb61

Soverign Nations

Want to pretend you are a Sovereign Nation, than free open source software is you only choice, end of story. Any other choice puts your not really Soverign digital Nation at the mercy of the corporations that own the licence, that is just the way it is, there is no denying it, not lie that can really cover that over.

Do not control your software stack and as a Nation, your are not longer sovereign but under the digital control of Multi-National corporations, who decide, what licence you get, what access to code you get, whether they decide to crash your end users computers or not, whether they decide to hack you infrastructure controlled by their software or not, whether you data is purposefully corrupted or not basically whether you once Soverign country is digitally crashed and I mean seriously put right out of business, extremely dangerous stuff, that no outside corporation should ever, ever have control over a Sovereign Country.

Look at US behaviour and it's use of government and military power to gain economic advantage for corporations and empowering those corporations to make use of their leverage, it is extremely dangerous to the rest of the world, take that into computer hardware and software and you can see where they attacks are going.

Still not on Windows 10? Fine, sighs Microsoft, here are its antivirus tools for Windows 7, 8.1

I will never install the shit licence version of windows 10, never.

Standards Everybody

Until there are a set of standards for auto vehicles they should absolutely not be deployed. Standards for what size object they can detect, at what distance and from all directions. Emergency manoeuvres, allowed or banned ie a large object appears in your path, do they remain on course and just brake even though an impact will occur or is evasive action taken, swerve off the road and brake but you run down a bunch of nuns and children at a primary school because they looked like bushes.

How about servicing rules, repair anywhere, or the car automatically drives you to maintenance station because it is due and demand 10% of the vehicle price as an extortion payment or it will not return to the road ie a $2,500 oil change, because the auto drive was also checked, as it would be at every single service call, pay of their car, that they let you use, is not going anywhere.

So will you car obey you or it's original manufacturer, hmmm, let me guess, of course it will obey it's original manufacturer, fuck you, who the fuck do you think you are, obey the corporations or they'll the car will deliver you to the nearest active train crossing, whoops.

Standards people, rules to abide by, no standards, then they should not be on roads.

Nunes FBI memo: Yep, it's every bit as terrible as you imagined

rtb61

Just a Memo

All the memo does is point out the need for serious criminal investigation. Now if it were something else, it would contain actual evidence, or direct charges to be laid or something legal. As a memo it lays out necessary areas of investigation and also current and past areas of fake investigation.

Russiagate fake, Clinton Crime Clan foundation not so fake, with the FBI and DOJ tied right up in it via political appointments. It's a mess and no memo will cover it, except to point out real investigation does need to occur.

Australian Senate vote-counting-ware contract a complete shambles

rtb61

Electronically Count Manually Checked Votes?

So they are paying for an electronic vote counting system to count votes 'er' checked by hand because why? The people checking the votes can't count or they can't but if they can't how can they check.

They paid millions for this, why? Computers, a spreadsheet and a computer network already there sitting idle, they could have even done it with pen and paper and an abacus.

Did someone spend 6 million just to spend 6 million and because nothing was in place, they pretended to do stuff really cheap as a show and it all fell apart.

Reality is something like a flying squad is required. At the very first instance of the hack, to get out there and re secure systems whilst garnering evidence to pursue the case and lay some active monitored traps in the essential first few hours after the hack.

Late investigation is dumb, is has to be real fast and able to rebuild a system, so that affected hardware can be put aside for deeper investigation.

The Real Death Of Attack Carriers

Best way to attack a carrier battle fleet. Get yourself a submarine, put a nuke on board. Sneak within nuke range of the targeted fleet and then surface and proudly announce to that fleet, that you have a an nuke on board and of the submarine receives a sufficient shock, say a warhead designed to sink the submarine the nuke will detonate and your move mate.

For shits and giggles when you park you seaborne nuclear mine alongside the very expensive attack carrier, start trolling the carrier by firing torpedoes at the escorting vessels, they can always commit suicide by retaliating.

The solution to that attack, scatter you fleet to safety, then abandon you attack carrier and then target the submarine, you lose your carrier but save the fleet, well, until the next suicideing submarine finds them, see the sub and killing it will kill you.

rtb61

Lead suck it up over 45s because you did.

There is a problem with plus 45, even if many of you refuse to admit it. Lead in fuels, yep, suck it up, the generation prior to us, fucked our brains up with lead, reducing out intellectual capability. Not criminal idiots certainly, well, only the ones already at the lower end of the IQ spread but there is a price to pay for say 10 to 30 lost IQ points you can thank you grandparents for and that is, yep, the millennial generation are smarter. Not so much in the US where lead water pipes are still a thing and firing lead bullets at rifle ranges, mainlining lead, had a very, very deleterious impact, surely everyone should have noticed by now (gun nuts are nuts for a reason, think mad hatter and mercury, just the exhaust of firing a lead bullet, down a rifled extreme friction inducing barrel, with very hot lead melting gases).

So more a US thing, than a thing in the rest of the world because they got the worst of lead poisoning as reflected in their crime rate versus the rest of the worlds crime rate.

Why deny it, you should be seriously pissed off about, bloody previous generation stole 20 of your IQ points and most of you are still smart enough to realise what was stolen from you and how important it is to you.

NYC cops say they can't reveal figures on cash seized from people – the database is too shoddy

rtb61

Not Money Stolen

What you will find it is not likely that money was stolen post seizure. Sure some was stolen during seizure but post seizure what was likely scammed was the sale of stolen assets. Cars, furniture, electronic goods, boats planes, you name, much of it sold on the cheap, real cheap, to insiders who keep or onsell what they get hold of.

This done apparently to the tune of billions of dollars of assets. The cash they to reduce police budgets to ensure US police are not police but for profit law enforcers, much the same as MAFIA enforcers, in fact telling them apart, based upon behaviour, would be difficult nowadays.

Microsoft exec says ARM-powered Windows laptops have multi-day battery life

rtb61

Re: Cool.

Well no, the story was IE outperformed Firefox in terms of battery life. This because M$ continued to run core elements of IE in the background sucking up battery life, whilst Firefox was running. How about boot ups and Windows being quicker, nope, another lie, delayed start of many elements meant whilst you could look at your pretty desktop you could not actually do anything until the delayed start program had finished delaying your ability to actually run programs.

It is near impossible to compare OSs without knowing what programs were still running or not, when you want to fudge numbers. Think disabling all those M$ spyware programs, I'll bet they were not running during battery tests, 'er', corporate version, not the mug punter anal probe version. M$ lies and it lies a lot.

Yes, British F-35 engines must be sent to Turkey for overhaul

rtb61

Stealth no so Stealthy

Problem is weather radar can light up stealth aircraft at truly massive distance because, moving an aircraft at high speeds through moisture laden atmosphere causes major alteration in the density of water vapour and the engine doing it's compression thing does it as well. You can see the contrail, so can weather radar, even when you can not see the contrail, high detail not so much weather radar can still see it.

Now that weather radar is not super accurate but it is certainly way accurate enough, to get more typical radar, say mounted to the tip of an anti-aircraft missile, to track and destroy the target and you know this.

The F35 flying pig is crap at low level flying, two reasons, really poor manoeuvrability and it doesn't take to bullets well, not even little ones, not well at all. It is a horrible get rich quick scheme for the US war industrial complex, hmm, didn't a particular prime ministers father have off shore tax haven bank accounts that the scummy prime minister did not declare when they came into his possession.

The real reason for the F35 purchase can likely be found in the British Virgin Islands tax haven, where the UK taxpayer is no longer a 'cough' virgin, having been right royally screwed over by US war industrial complex, if you are British, just pretend it feels good.

rtb61

Why Serviced In Turkey

The answer as to why the F35 Flying Pig engines can only be serviced in Turkey, the answer should be obvious. The US corporations controlling the purchase, apparently not only for the US government but also the British government, can get cheaper servicing, much cheaper, which of course they will charge for at full tote, done in the US at maximum labour cost, so more profit, the do not call the F35 the flying pig for no reason, the snout right in the war industrial complex generating maximum profits for them because apparently the reality is Russia and China are not threat at all and they can produce and sell shite, that needs to be replaced once they are finished selling it and it no longer needs to be in any way effective or reliable as long as it meets it's one and only goal, profit.

What has the UK done to itself, you are becoming an embarrassment, a joke government and offshoot of Americorps, a pathetic subsidiary.

'We think autonomous coding is a very real thing' – GitHub CEO imagines a future without programmers

rtb61

Specification vs Instruction

There is a huge difference between specification and instruction. Why you specify, you state what should be achieved, when you instruct, you state how it should be achieved.

Major real world difference. The need for coding will reduce but not be eliminated. Obviously you will need to debug auto generated code, when results fail. Why did it fail, why was you specification wrong, was it an auto code mistake or is your specification in error, check the output, read the code, that's the only way you can find out.

So you will code much faster because the bulk of the coding will be auto generated based upon the specification. You than check the code, and audit the code for security, compactness and speed, which is way faster than trying to check your own mistakes.

'Israel hacked Kaspersky and caught Russian spies using AV tool to harvest NSA exploits'

rtb61

Criminals Lie

What the fuck. Israel breaks the law and catches Kaspersky doing it's job. Yes, security companies harvest viruses in order learn how to fucking find them, break them and then delete them. I did it myself. When I discovered a virus on my network, as part of digging it out, I stored a copy of portable media, which I clearly labelled as dangerous and not to be used and I used it to test AV products, if they did not find it, I avoided that product.

Somehow twisting collecting viruses to analyse and break them not equates to using them to hack everyone else, how gullible would you have to be to believe that.

It's like a bank robber being caught and then saying, thank me and reward me, I discovered the bank manager was committing bank fraud because he memorised the combination of the safe.

They admit breaking laws, anything there is after is bullshit, you broke the law, ummm, so why the fuck should I believe anything you have to say, your broke security software on purpose, why.

The Russian government is now in a position to dump arrest warrants on anyone from the company who ever dares to go to Russia.

I expect a security company to gain full details of a virus, what it does, how it does it, what happens in the wild with it, who is actually using it. So Kaspersky discovered the US government was viruses and reported it to their government as required by law, accesory after the fact and then the Russian government investigated it and where it come from and where it was sending stuff and the Israeli whilst conducting criminal activity, call that a crime.

Lame excuse, anyone who buys it is truly foolish.

Getting HFC 'er' no they will just be forced to use the Foxtel cable shared with ten times as many users, no new connection there and keep in mind a lot the the FTTN was in Foxtel regions, so it was bad enough to force a swap to FTTN.

Also nearly all FTTP connections where in HFC zones, so that HFC thing, is simply ungraded Foxtel and the Government and NBN will just pretend they did something. The HFC connection cost, is the cost of buying that shit network, divided by the number of user to be connected and it keeps going up as more areas are swicthed out of the do nothing NBN plan and watch it all collapse in chaos as ten times as many people attempt to use an unupgraded network.

15% of customers being pissed off is OK, seriously WTF. Lets make a guess, the majority of customers on FTTP are blooyd happy, some customers are happy on FTTN (depending on distance and quality of copper and most customers are unhappy on HFC (sharing a fibre optic connections between hundreds of others, that can never ever deliver the CVC they pretend to sell). Yeah, uh huh, screw you NBN.

When I am forced too, I will take the slowest speed, not because that is what I want but because I know that is all I will get a peak, so why would I be stupid enough to pay for what the HFC will not deliver, it would be stupid, why the hell would you pay for 100 when you know at peak you will be lucky to get 5 and more likely to get 2. A giant strangleband ripoff.
