Re: How much free speech can you afford? @404
Ah, so you have met them too?
I thought not.

Well, my wife has met them - they invite their employees to their houses for Christmas parties, etc. Nobody special, just a line worker from one of their factories, yet treated her as an equal. They are not bad people - no matter what the liberal narrative is.
1. Obama has not had a budget approved since he's been in office.
2. Democrats held total power in both House & Senate first two years of office.
3. NASA is a space agency, not a muslim outreach touchy-feely State Department.*
4. More folks sit on their asses and take government tax money than work in this country & I place that right on Obama's doorstep - He (and his little buddies) have disabled fraud protections and have made it easier to lie for your Obamaphone, SNAP, and actual cash disbursements. That is where an increasing majority of the Fed cash is spent.
This is not sustainable - the Chinese will want their money back some day and Obama will be long gone.
* note he killed the Space Shuttle too.
damn community organizer has no heart, no soul. He has NASA spending money on Muslim Outreach! What the hell does that have to do with space exploration?
We need things like this for our kid's future and he's doing his best to eliminate it. Between the borrowing, the Fed deficit, and Obamacare - we're screwed.
'but not fps no matter what anyone says...'
You would be incorrect - FPS with a kb/mouse has precision not seen in console games. I've known some over the years who were artists at Quake, Counter Strike, etc. Single bullet headshots, not spray&pray like consoles. Wish I could still play them at the house, unfortunately a 700-800 ping over satellite puts you at a severe disadvantage - thus I have an incredible investment in Everquest, something I've played since 2001.
;)
Used as back up or special occasions.
Special occasion happened yesterday with the Verizon website. Firefox 25 wouldn't display the account area properly, where IE11 did. Don't know why but there it is.
As a sidenote: did save $50 a month moving to a better plan - Verizon was screwing me pretty hard - funny how their 'Account Analysis Tool' didn't pick that up.
Updating an HP Elitebook 8440P from 12:05am to 1:45am this morning. Downloaded 3.47GB for Win 8.1 with Media Center over my satellite (thus the middle of night/no download limits from 12-5am).
Went pretty much the same, although no HP tools to deal with - HP doesn't make 'em for older Elitebooks - Firefox crashed this morning while coming back from sleep, nothing amazing to report.
Ah, shall we discuss British massacres, drug pushing, slavers, India, Middle East, etc, etc? Or is that too far back in history for you? Whole damn world is still trying to compensate for the damage the British Empire caused over hundreds of years of domination.
People is glass houses should never throw stones... ya know? Wouldn't hurt for you to brush up on your world history either.
P.S. I'm not happy about it - if every single politician in Washington DC fell over dead *right now*, I wouldn't shed a tear - damn gov is out of control atm. You think YOU have problems, try being in the same country as these bastards.
Could be that the NSA has Tor pwned and just wants to steer folks that way, too. Secure comms are going to require something new and entirely different, say 20 people that you want to talk to, with frequency jammers, inside a Faraday cage, inside a Dyson Sphere, while actively being sucked into a black hole... IDK, if it comes out of a Fed's mouth, you have to check current definitions of common words, determine context, fact check, and then just assume it's a damn lie. Sucks.
The thing about being paranoid is, are you paranoid enough?
o.O
Shoved right into any traffic to those site/services - NSA finally their own co-lo's.
Next secure form of communication? Laser line of sight? Smoke signals? Wait, EPA would be all over you. Mustn't do that.
I'm gonna go have a beer, purchased with quarters... sigh.
@Tom 35
WTF does that mean? 'maybe the tea baggers'... surface dwellers & democrats elected Obama twice, even with all the contradictions and weasel words intact. Benghazi, IRS targeting, drones, Gitmo, etc and he's still there-> courtesy of folks like you with your 'tea bagger' comments.
Like you, I've taken the managed services provider route, started my business in 2005. I saw the writing on the wall when I, a senior systems administrator at an ISP in Arizona, was laid off. Surprised the hell out of me, life had been great up to that point. Then there were no jobs. Pure survival led to the creation of my company.
I have always had a personal issue with ripping off clients so I put a policy in place from the beginning that my company would not provide equipment because I consider it a direct conflict of interest. We would determine the requirements, shop for the best price, set up the purchase for the client, and never make any money on it. This way the client has direct control of warranty issues if they occur - this is a black hole with 3rd party purchasing, ever tried to track down a company that somehow fell into the abyss for warranties? I make my money installing and managing networks, not upselling a hardware store with a server cluster. Lost a bid with an Amazon fulfillment center by a $1000.99 because the winner used copper-clad aluminum CAT5 instead of solid copper, I know because I subcontracted the install from the SOB lol.
Anyway I recently lost an initial contract (not fully out, I provide the best service in the area) with a company that insisted I profit/steal from them - wanted me to purchase equipment and slap ten percent on each piece. I actually felt uncomfortable about it and made me kinda sad, but there it is, couldn't do it and explained the why and how my company could help them by keeping costs down. No effect. Looked at me like I was crazy.
My question to you is: Am I crazy?
Cheers!
It won't be American leadership - most likely a UN action to consolidate North America into one district - using American forces. The latest Navy commercial calling itself 'A Global Force for Good' is disturbing on several levels. It doesn't matter who you vote for, they are all the same.
All that aside-> I'm not happy with my government, we have enough bullshit to deal with at home than to be dicking around all over the world.
Shit.
1. The folks who sag ALWAYS get caught by the cops - pants fall down as they as running. (Watch 'Cops', it's a riot -no pun intended)
2. Cured that with my boys by pantsing them in public - shame is underrated. Always told my kids they can do whatever they want, once they were out of the house and I wasn't paying the bills. Very fair, I think.
;)
Perspective guidance needed here... 'Gun Nuts' as in folks that like projectile weapons and where they live or 'Gun Nuts' as in where folks that do their killing with projectile weapons live? Profound difference here.
In any case, playing with real or having play weapons 'to astound and amuse your friends', is a stupid idea. You never reveal your cards (or your defenses) until you absolutely need to.
