'For real? And to think we used to joke about taxing the air we breathe!'
You do pay tax for the air you breathe - part of the Government package enforcing clean air laws.
Just not directly.

Take 8-16 cinder blocks and 4'x8' sheet of OSB.
1. Cut OSB to size/shape desktop desired. (Custom!)
2. Stack blocks to provide sitting or standing desk (Adjustable!).
3. Place OSB desktop on top of cinder blocks. (Ease of Use!)
4. Computate. (Efficient!)
We also offer custom bookshelves, rack enclosures (smaller bricks), and buildings.
Americans as children? I can agree with you somewhat. However, I also believe they(we/me) are conditioned to remain in that state by design to create consumers. The lack of personal responsibility for their actions or inaction, everyone being a victim of something or other, always pointing fingers, the lack of any sense of US history, much less world history, all combines to create surface dwellers. Even American journalism schools teach that you should write your stories to a 3rd grade reading level.
I mean everybody isn't that way, there are always differences, but the overfuckinglywhelming majority of Americans are idIoTs.
I literally can't fucking go anywhere IRL or internet-wise without hearing about the fucking US Presidential election. Fuck BOTH of them! How about them apples?
I cannot fucking wait until I vote tomorrow for write-in candidate Deez Nutz - know why? We're pretty much fucked no matter what happens.
... my Samsung top loading washer... doesn't look at all like a time bomb waiting in the darkness...
I was relieved not to be destroyed when I checked the model number and found it was indeed the spawn of the Devil's Spinning Washer of Death. It let me live. This Time.
Sent off the recall information for the in-home repair and decal kit. It's a good washer when it's not in an explody mood, sings the Song of It's People, a Happy Washing Time melody when it's done. Bonus.
What do Apple sysadmins use to work on stuff?
I'm serious. I use damn near every port on my CF-53 toughbook troubleshooting this that or the other from week to week. Even the serial port gets used on older Cisco gear. What do they do when the web interface stops working? Turn it off and on again?
Is there such a thing as an Apple/MacOS admin?
No signals come in, none emanate out - the homeowner decides what is best for their family. Entry/exit would be airlock style, designed as a foyer or mudroom. This is a reachable goal with current tech, I'd pay extra, but I'm just a little odd.
Pretty sure others would want such a thing too - business plan anyone?
Ayup... mid to late 90's with NT DNS(!) servers, then later with Solaris x86 Bind DNS servers, when setting up new websites, you always had to stop Internet Exploder, close Netscape, restart your DNS client, just to check to see if the scripts took...
I'm sorry, I don't know where I was going with this -> wife pops in with 'Oh look, a portable ski lodge!'... thought evaporated.

...few months ago I found out Kyocera makes 3D printers. Last night learned Kyocera made hand coffee grinders (that turned into a four hour exploration of coffee grinding science*, put $100 Zassenhaus Brasilia on wish list ;).
Today I learned a Chinese company with an unfortunate name** makes some pretty cool stuff.
*electric blades are bad and make too much powder - I can agree with the powder part.
** Le Echo is really close to Le Car, which still has a horribly bad reputation in the US - Kit better work properly or the comparisons will sink them.
My twitter feed has turned into a political zombie apocalypse... I'm too jaded or too tired to be outraged and I still gotta feed the family.
Seems like 80% of the world hasn't learned to stop when they hear the mushy sound. They just continue to beat their heads against the wall. I don't get people sometimes.
You follow me on twitter? Been saying that for awhile... If I was Apple I'd sue your ass, but then if I was Apple, I would have applied for a copyright first, so you win this one...
I'm waiting for the Ultimate Mousetrap with auto reset and streaming webserver for Android and iPhone...
No shit? Coming after routers are they? Jesus Christ! People get paid for the most stupid shit! OF COURSE they're coming for the fucking routers because of all the juicy IoT shit stupid fucks allow in their house.
I mean motherfuck, this is a fucking progression thing. Dumb fucks. </rant>*
Nothing personal, John. I know you have a business to run. Maybe I shouldn't be here right now, been dealing with fucking idiot corporate types all fucking day.
I thought the Note 3 was the end all, be all of my phone needs and wants, figured the stylus would be a better way to get signatures for CC payments on my phone instead of just a finger doodle on a screen. Quite possible I would have waited for the Note 7 - if Samsung hadn't obsoleted my Note 3 less than 2 years into contract - no Marshmallow for you, 404! Thus far I'm pretty happy with my LG G5, gets regular updates, removable battery, SD card slot, and better cameras than that Pixel I'm hearing so much about.
Funny thing about my Note 3 - I never, ever, took a CC payment on it, either cash, check, or invoiced. Weird.
Didn't want to go that far - most people went Windows Millennium at the time, I missed that heartache with Windows 2000 Pro due to the need to be productive at work.
I use the the XP style button because it trips people out because THEY are stuck with Windows 10 muaaaahahahahahahahahaaaa... and I'm contrary that way... pick one.
Stupid post, needs more detail.
When the LG G5's first came out at Verizon, the sales reps didn't know how to work it without an app drawer. In our case, wife went Nova launcher and I held out for BB hub+, we both use BB Hub+ now. LG reconsidered the issue and now the G5 comes with a stock app drawer.
Quite possibly a subtle kick in the reseller nads by Google to position Pixel as the Must Have Flagship Android... well, of course it is.
Went from our perfectly fine* Samsung Note 3's to the LG G5 and haven't been happier in some time over a phone. The speed, 3.0 USB, wide angle & regular cameras, signal reception, Android security updates, and ironically Samsung fast-as-hell PRO Class 10 64GB SDXC card - it's a keeper.
* The Note 3's were more than powerful enough to run Marshmallow and that was my whole reason for upgrading, I needed Marshmallow for some things I was working on.
'quite a few people , when learning to drive, have to have their hands labelled "L" and "R"'
In OSUT (One Station Unit Training) in the early 80's, there was one poor sonuvabitch who couldn't march for shit, always started off on the wrong foot, who was made to carry a rock in his left hand for 13 weeks. If I wasn't preoccupied with perfecting my Zen (becoming One with the Woodwork is very desirable in Basic - Senior Drill Instructor got 137 counts of trainee abuse two cycles after we graduated), I would have felt sorry for him.
Breaks my heart today when I remember him trying his damnedest to mentally/physically get into rhythm before even moving. I wonder what became of him?
Ours goes like this:
Can I speak to Peter 404?
Sure which one? I have four Peter 404s and one is dead. Which one do you want?
....ummmm
Ok, when you figure out which one you want to speak to, you call us right back ok?
....Yes... Thank you?.....

Edited to say: Works on bill collectors too ;)
goes for toll roads/bridges too - my Dad told me about a bridge/toll road was sold to the citizens of Cleveland, Ohio waaaay back in the 60's. They were told the toll would end when the bridge was paid for in the 70's and to this day are still paying tolls for that fucking bridge.
Government never lets go of revenue streams once created. Ever.
