I have Copilot on my Windows 11 Pro PC but I have yet to use it.

I used to use WinZip but every update to Windows 11 broke WinZip, needing to pay for an update, so now I use 7-zip which is free to use and bug-free.

It was just an equipment malfunction, I am sure malfunctions occur quite often on something like a space station. This will not be the last malfunction. I am glad it's all over now and attitude control has bee regained.

The British government and IT systems have never gone well together.

Asda and Windows

My local Asda hasn't even elevated to Windows 7, they seem permanently stuck on Windows XP.

Microsoft's support for any version of Windows is rubbish anyway, they usually end up giving a totally irrelevant answer so no loss there.

Where I live the 4G coverage from EE is non-existent. Even the ordinary mobile phone signal (2G) is poor and intermittent. A few months ago I was so frustrated by it that I changed to a different supplier.

Closing down the 4G network to us mortals will go down very badly for the Conservatives in the elections.

After Windows 98 we had the far worse Windows ME.

I have just checked Regedit and that DWORD above has been set already on my superb but not new Intel Core i3 desktop workstation.

Apple to fix new maps app

Why don't Apple just buy back into Google Maps, after all that works very well, I know as I use an Android phone.

Office 15 beta

Microsoft need to dump the awful "ribbon" and go back to decent toolbars. Either that or people will vote with their feet and go to OpenOffice.org.

Updates to Firefox & UAC

I find UAC such a nuisance that I just keep it permanently disabled.

Windows XP & IE9

IE9 gives blurry text anyway - it just isn't any good. Get Firefox 5 - this will run on XP no problems and gives good clear text unlike IE9.
