Volkswagen Passat GT 2.0-litre TDI SCR 190 PS 6spd DSG

jungle_jim

I am getting a Passat

I am a Sales rep ( boo hiss) do 30 - 40 thousand miles a year and currently have a 3 year old company insignia

The choice of new cars for me was as follows:

Mondeo 2.0 Duratorq TDCI Zetec 150PS Econetic £23,635.00

Insignia 2.0 CDTI Design Nav 140PS Ecoflex £20,674.00

Passat Saloon 2.0 TDI SE Business 150PS BMT £25,620.00

Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi N-Tec 5dr £23,945.00

Mazda 6 2.2D 150 SE-L Nav £24,480.00

After having a play with all of them I ranked them as follows:

Passat Saloon 2.0 TDI SE Business 150PS BMT £25,620.00

Nissan Qashqai 1.5 DCi N-Tec 5dr £23,945.00

Mazda 6 2.2D 150 SE-L Nav £24,480.00

Mondeo 2.0 Duratorq TDCI Zetec 150PS Econetic £23,635.00

Insignia 2.0 CDTI Design Nav 140PS Ecoflex £20,674.00

The Passat was the upper end of the price range, but it is worth the odd £200 extra a year in BIK that I would have to pay.

I daresay others will have a similar choice and this end of the market I think it is a good choice.

That's all I have to say about that.

Re: Need to re-play Far Cry 3

I would like to follow up and say that I have taken the time to play the game again and am thoroughly enjoying it this time around.

Can't say what I am doing differently this time around though.

Strange eh!?

Need to re-play Far Cry 3

I must have played it wrong because I found it all to be a bit of a disappointment.

Will have to give it another go methinks.

Have an upvote on the Saab. I recently upgraded my 9-5 2.0lpt to a 9-5 2.3 FPT estate (uses identical engine, turbo, injectors as the Aero variant) stuck a stage 1 remap on it and it is hysterical.

There will probably be an open source version along soon that does a passable ale anyway.

Re: Understandable

>Possibly. However, some nasty crashes might be caused by drivers of unrestricted cars trying to overtake them. A moped can be overtaken relatively safely, a Nissan Micra less so.

Im not sure about that. When overtaking a moped you should be giving it the same space as a car anyway.

Restricted power to weight should still manage national speed limits, it just takes longer to get there.

jungle_jim

Re: Understandable

With less power you will have to think about every action you take more carefully. With a bit more power you can get away with making a few more errors, and being able to get away with more leads to more carelessness from what I have seen
