I'd bet lunch at your favorite pub that the first act of Congress after Clinton is elected will be to initiate impeachment proceedings. And DT will be screaming for it from the rooftops. Unfortunately, they and he may have a case.

That politicians lie. You can tell, because their lips are moving. No matter who wins, the rich get richer, infrastructure goes un-maintained in favor of useless pork projects and increased military spending, while the electorate drowns itself in "reality" TV programming because trying to parse actual reality requires too much effort. Why think, when XYZ News Channel will do it for you? And tout drugs, cars and other crap you don't need along with their soporific propaganda.
The way this should work reminds me of a scene in The Godfather, where Moe Green (Netflix) tells off the movie studios (Michael Corleone). "You don't buy me out. I buy you out!"
The problem with Netflix isn't Netflix, it's stupid content owners who inhibit streaming according to some misguided whims. We've talked this problem to death; no need to repeat it here. In a perfect world, Netflix would be buying Disney and all its content, not the other way around. And buying other studios as well. If they won't wise up, buy them up.

Groups like Lurk are what worry me about AI. In all discussions of AI, the assumption is always that it will be implemented and controlled by White Hats. Whatever form AI takes in the future it surely will be an asset to the Black Hats. Security is the business to be in going forward, IMO. Virgin Mobile, my carrier, is now owned by Sprint. My monthly plan costs $35. No idea how many phone minutes that buys -- I never use it up. But it offers "unlimited data." Ha! After 2.5 GB they'll throttle the download speed. Got a warning last week that I'd reached 85% of allowance.
OGs like me carry GPS-enabled phones in hope the authorities will find our remains before the vultures do, so neither minutes or bandwidth are a problem for me. Does seem pretty cheesy, though. So I use Wi-Fi when I need to update the few apps I have. The Joy of Capitalism.

If I had it to do over, I might have gone into geology as a career. Always liked looking at road cuts and the like. Now my expiration date is approaching, sure would like to catch a ride on the OSIRIS-REx mission! First human to visit an asteroid in space? What a way to go.

When I do a left-handed Shift-1 to type ! on my laptop, I have to hit the Shift key dead center or it doesn't shift. So sometimes I get Yahoo1 instead of Yahoo! Having to type "Yahoo!" has forced me to become more accurate when pressing Shift. Otherwise I rarely use the exclamation point character. Thank you, Yahoo1 (oops) for improving my life, even though I never used any of your services. I'm sure you'll be missed.
