I have a single TV, I use it to watch TV on....
If I'm in the kitchen, I'm cooking ergo NOT watching TV
If I'm in the bedroom... I'm taking care of bedroom related business ERGO... not watching TV
if I'm in my dining room I'm....

If I need "backgorund" noise, I play some music or put the radio on. IE something that doesn't require teh use of my eyes because I am almost certainly doing something else that does.
yep.... very happy with my Hero, had it just about 18 months and have been very pleased with it, like you I*really* miss the camera from my renoir but thats the only thing I'd change... oh I'd like to have had a flash as well.
have just started to look at phones for my forthcoming upgrade.
Actually, I have a pair of bluetooth ear buds that double as a handsfree set.
There's no plastic stuck to me anywhere and at first glance you'd assume I was just wearing a headset.
Its only when you look closer that you can see the bluetooth dongle / controls hanging round my neck.
The big issue with them these days is the constant dropping out as I walk cos world + uncle seems to have some kind of 2.4ghz stuff going on.
I'll probably go back to wired for that reason tho and not because I look like a chump when I wear them.

I am also an IAM qualified driving and its you leather elbowed / courdery jacket wearing types that make us *all* look and sound like twats. I am neitehr of those things.
I suspect its because the government can compel people to sell them the sites whereas your friendly neighbourhood telco would probably have to pay over the odds because farmer giles would see it as an opportunity to raise eom much needed hard cash.
NB this is in no way a criticsm of farmer Giles, I think pretty much any of us would milk a private firm for as much as we could get away with.

Not everyone that uses FB is a moron. I use facebook the way I want to use it. It doesn't *have* to contain your world.
Its just a tool and like 99% of tools is a useful as you make it and can be as controlled as you want it. it *really* isn't rocket science.
I've had 2 LG tocuhscreen phones.. a viewty and a renoir. The viewty had real issues in its usability but was a lovely looking phone that people often remarked upon (strange but true!)
The renoir was a great phone, it did all that the original iPhone did plus a whole lot more but because it had a proprietry OS and software you were stuck with what you got.
I have an android based HTC now and would never go back to an LG, even an android based one.
Still its no fun to hear about job losses.. even to marketing types because sadly without marketing types a lot of what normal people do isn't required

that thing was annoying the crap out of me to the extent that I disabled Skype from starting full stop; now I start skype at pre-arranged times to chat only to the people I've exchanged details with.. IE my family who all live abroad.
I had plans to extend my use of skype but that one single annoyance has effectively prevented me from exploring it further, I'll certainly never install a skype client on my mobey now, god knows what shit they'll pop up / under / over.
I don't think anyone has ever found anything they were actually looking for by using windows serach.. except maybe by accident.
I have "searched" a single directory which contains only the file I'm actually looking for and it still hasn't found it!

We don't pay anywhere near enough for the ISPs to be offering SLA's and that is the crux of the matter for all the whinging.
You pay bottom dollar... you get bottom dollar service. Want a dedicated speed? pay for a dedicated feed with an attached SLA. Good luck on getting that for for £20 a month.
gonna go against the flow here BUT
I had Virgin cable (and NTL before that) I also used the Virgin BB service (and NTL before that) and I never really had any problems with them. I had the Virgin HD box and it all worked as advertised, I found their service to be fine. If I needed engineers they turned up on the day and at the tiem specified... really can't fault them. Sorry.
I only got shot of them when I decided I had better things to do with £60 a month when I was barely at home to watch TV and Orange offered me BB for nothing as aprt of my mobey package (can't fault them either TBH)

I did say it was a somewhat controversial view.
Very few people have ever found the books anything other than hard work in my experience.
I tried to read them for the first time when I was 13 ... having been utterly entralled by The Hobbit. LOTR's was a huge let down for me. I've tried several times since..
fellowship, is a great book (apart from the bits I've already mentioned) , Two Towers is s good book, return is tedious in the extreme.
Great story, badly executed by a poor writer that would have benefited from a stronger editor.
I was with you right up to the "Does it have Tom Bombadil?" at which point I wished you a long and painful death to the accompiamnet of stupid ryhming couplets.
A somewhat controversial view but the books are utter shite... a fantastic story ruined and rendered all but unreadable ( believe me I've tried 5 times!) by stupid fucking "elven poetry", "Dwarven songs" and Tom Bombadil, none of which added a single iota to the overal plot/ story.
Jackson took the essentail story elements of the books and created the stories that shold have been told.
which is all very well except the vast majority of us wouldn't have the faintest idea where to find such porn and I certainly wouldn't be looking for it to frame chummy.
No teh correct weay to deal with this situation is the late night visit with a couple of mates and then you call the police about the stolen lappy.

I found this an interesting read. I had a Virgin V+ HD box but I've not had one for 2 or 3 years, I got rid because I found I was paying for stuff I simply wasn't using. I do love the use of technology for this kind of stuff tho'
Anywhooo... a couple of things..
What is this fascination with something being an "x-killer" ? choice is good people and competition for services is even better.
This box sounds quite remarkable in its capability but I just can't imagine TV being *that* important ni my life. Most of the time I struggle to find 1 thing to watch let alone 3.
Still I imagine in a household full of kids I suppose it'll be quite a useful tool.
I'm a big fan of the COD series but I've not bought/played balck ops yet because I simply don't have the time :( That and this will probably make it onto my machine at some point tho'
To answer the question, tehre's every chance I'll do a BF3 as well cos I loved playing BF online with a bunch of mates and I think BF3 may very well be the game that brings us all back together..
