You should install smart meters even if they're dumb, says flack

Re: Smart Meter Mis-selling

My energy company offer me exactly that same functionality , that is to say, I can see a graph predicting my use for the coming month based on the last reading I gave them ( takes 5 mins once a week) and it compares it same month last year.

No need for a smart meter.

They offer the consumer nothing that isn't already available and certainly not "an end to estimated bills" My bill is never estimated because I give them the readings.

It's neither onerous or difficult.

Re: Criminal offence to impose a diet lacking in essential elements ?

@heyrick

I see you subscribe to the tired old "if you eat meat, you don't care about welfare" theory which basically marks you out as ignorant. As do your remarks about why teh French don't take blood from the English.

I make no bones about it, I eat meat but that doesn't mean I shove any old shite in my mouth. For example I rarely eat any kind of fast food. I support a local butcher who sources his stock from local farms (in the case of beef it's right there on his brother's farm) ... the eggs I buy come from chicken that spend their days running around unfettered...I know exactly how they live because they're *my* chickens... I eat locally sourced in season vegetables.

I'm happy for veggies or vegans to enjoy whatever diet floats their boat but I am heartily sick of their (more often than not) holier than thou attitude and constant carping on about how I don't care about animals. Eating meat and being an arse to animals are not the same thing at all.

So how about a little "live and let live" because frankly meat eaters are almost exclusively more tolerant of your lifestyle choices than any veggie I know is of mine and that is the reason why veggies get such a hard time.

Re: Nothing to do with their terrible shops?

When I first took a Vodafone contract I wanted my number ported.... I spent the first 6 weeks eitehr being able to call but nothing else OR receive a call but nothing else. It never took less than 45 minutes to get through to customer services who were then next to useless. The classic was I rang to complain that I couldn't send/ receive texts... CS operatives response? "I'll send you the phone settings by text"

I did teh research and found all the settings for my phone (not on their website BTW) and did it myself. IN 6 attempts they never once solved any problem I rang them with.

An uncontrolled asthma attack is life threatening and is considered a perfectly valid reason to call an ambulance and visit A&E.

We are not the only country in the EU with a large Eurosceptic contingency. I have friends in Spain, Italy and Germany and many of them are as worried about "ever closer union" as a lot of Brits are.

Euro Politicians all refuse to even entertain the possibility that the road they are intent on travelling might not be what ordinary people want. This is a political project, its driven by politicians many of whom are failed politicians in their own countries but have found a "safe harbour" in the workings of the EU.

There is a lot of good about the EU. A lot of good but there is also a lot of dodgy or bad. How are we to force *our* politicians (who are mostly for the EU) that a good number of people have some reservations?

Anywho, one way or another there are gonna be a lot of pissed off people on friday morning and they're all gonna be bitching about it on social media, in the papers, on the TV..... that's when teh real nightmare begins!
