One successful launch or test does not prove the design as you may have been lucky that something operating very close to its limits didn't break/malfunction (imagine the number of variables that change between launches). A proven design requires more than a single successful test.
Whilst I agree that the on-board avionics systems would be kept separate from the in-flight entertainment system; your assertion that someone could not "reprogram" an executable is incorrect. If we're presuming it was already running then you could cause something like a buffer overflow which would provide an entry point for your own code. Alternatively if you knew what you were looking for and could elevate access then you could patch an executable (which is how cracked games work). Would they have protection against these attacks? I hope so. Will they have every scenario covered? Probably not.

Andrew could have been referring to WCDMA (UMTS/European) or CDMA2000 (American) or just the multiplexing method CDMA. Its pretty ambiguous as he uses the terms interchangeably but in any case, he's still correct.
I think what's key is that the operators get a grip on when to allow the device to connect to LTE and when its better to keep it on 3G. For example receiving a lot of text messages/calls (at say around once every few minutes) will kill the battery unless the network utilizes an efficient timer (on when the device is next allowed to search for a faster/higher priority technology). Of course that'll be somewhat alleviated when they finally get around to using VOLTE (Voice over LTE) or similar.
Basically, FunnyJunk were using material from the Oatmeal without permission. Inman (guy behind Oatmeal) retaliated by pointing it out on his blog and drawing some amusing pictures of the people behind FunnyJunk. Funnyjunk threatened to sue for 20,000 and wanted the material removed. Inman said no and instead will raise 20,000 for charity.
Eventually EFF signed up to defend him and the people behind FunnyJunk backed down. At this point 200,000 had been raised for charity.
Increasingly the method used by USB sticks is unpatched/unknown buffer overflows in the USB drivers (so turning off Autorun does nothing for these specific attacks). Because of the privleages given to these drivers they can easily escalate themselves to admin level and install in the background.
It seems that every post that mentions Google now, no matter what they do, has a dig at them. I'm all for flagging up when something wrong is done but it just seems that every little thing is turned into a negative. Should Google have insisted on paying BW a huge amount of money? From BW's response, I think its clear that money is not what they want from this deal and yet the author is implying that theres some shady corporate business going on.
Except that most HTML lessons consist of being how to use an out-of-date Macromedia Dreamweaver (yes, not Adobe). 90% of the time you're not even told to switch to code-view, just draw a table, insert some flash buttons from a template and there we go, I programmed a website and get full marks in my exam! I can assure you that *noone* finds these lessons interesting (even though who are already interested in programming).
However it did get more exciting and we were tasked to create a holiday booking system in Excel, we even got to name our holiday company! Travel First - the First name in holiday bookings!
Most users are idiots when it comes to security. C would be unacceptable in any firewalled environment as the browser would never be able to check for revocation and so the user would always get an error message. The biggest problem with giving a choice using UAC as an exmaple is that the user will almost always press Yes.

The reason why they've done this is in preperation for "Facebook Email" which everyone is rumouring about, Google is feeling threatened by this (as it could conflict with Gmail) and so they are trying to even it up as much as possible which I think is fair enough. If Facebook create an email system then why should Gmail let users flock to that but Facebook trap users in?
