Re: .. point where they can be managed by the clueless click monkeys ..

We have been using ClearOS for three and a half years now. I don't worry about updates. They just happen. I only reboot it when I have to turn the power off for some reason. I just looked - last reboot was last October. No-one misses Exchange. Some of us use Thunderbird, others Outlook. There's only 8 of us, but for a small business it just works.

Apache devs: 'We'll ship no OpenOffice before its time'

Meh

We often have to open large CSV files. Typically 50-100 MB. I downloaded the latest version of LibreOffice to see if the spreadsheet had improved since the last time I tried it. I had a 100MB CSV file. Excel took 30 seconds to open it. LibreOffice took 5 minutes. This lack of speed is the single thing stopping us from moving away from MSOffice. It's getting better, but it's just not there yet.

Re: Massively supportive of the BBC and the license Fee

I completely agree. I have lived and worked all over the place, and there is nothing to compare with the quality of the BBC. I can't believe all the complaints I read about the license fee. You'll not get anything as good for the price. £12 quid a month for all the TV and radio channels, plus all the on line stuff, plus the global reach of the BBC brand, which gives us worldwide visibility that other countries would love to have. A bargain.

Nissan backs off from Goodwood reverse-race car stunt

It was a Juke that went up on two wheels

The Nissan that went up the whole course on two wheels was a Juke - just in case the impression was gained that it was a Leaf that did it. I watched it - a remarkable piece of driving!
