RE:AC
I'm sure i heard recently during the cuts that the government purposely inflates the prices of things like this and buried treasures so that noone buys them and they stay in the country.
I believe there's a quango for that

Do you even know who Alan Turing was?
He cracked the codes the Germans were using in the war to give us much needed information and was imprisoned after the war when they found out he was gay.
Without his help the war would have been much more difficult and yet the British Government locked him up as a thankyou.
If you don't think his worth the money then don't buy it, but we need to keep those papers in the UK, they are hugely important historically.
They can't do it to everyone though, the ques would be horrendous and it would surely break human rights law.
Everyone should buy some of those pants and present a unified (not uncovered) front.
I would actually prefer the pat down than the small radiation blast, and chance of picture on the net.
At the end of the day, i get a grope and this poor guy who has to do it will most certainly know i'm enjoying it =]

I'd like to point out that Americans and Brits have a different idea as to what constitutes a fanny as i can see a lot of disappointed people on this side of the pond accidentally downloading this app.
Americans - Rear bum
Brits - Front bum
Google may be slated a bit for the WiFi stunt but do people really want to replace Google with Facebook?
Say goodbye to any privacy with Facebook in that position, they can't be allowed to expand into other services while they treat personal information as they do.
A world where everyone can see everyones profiles, pictures, movements, houses etc is a world where burglary is rife and id theft and fraud are a daily occurence.
So will they compensate all the makers of handsfree kit in cars?
And will they be blocking the signals completely?
This is a badly thought out idea, if i can't even use my phone's GPS in one of their cars i'd return it or try and sue.
And if your passengers cant use their phones either do you think anyone's going to buy the cars that implement this tech?
How do you phone someone if you break down?
What if your wife goes into labour and they can't contact you?
What if you need the police?
This is a stupid idea, there's no way they'll get anyone to agree with it
I bet Microsoft used the typical stereotype of a spotty heathen in a tracksuit flogging Windows 7 copies in the pub, when in actual fact it's most likely going to be cousin Dave or Carl from Currys, who's never there when you want to complain.
Pirates keep the world going round, they're people who stand up for the concept of a free internet, whether right or wrong.
"You are forced to buy IE each time. What is the difference?"
The difference is IE is free, so you are not forced to buy anything each time.
And i pointed out that apple doesn't have to supply multiple Internet Browsers with their OS, which smacks of double standards.
So your defense there was crap Lewis.
Google should be able to put whatever they like at the top of their search site.
Just as i believed Microsoft should be able to stick IE in Windows (even though i don't use it)
They invented their sites and OSs so i don't see why they should be picked on while apple can close off competition and stick whatever they like in their OS and phones
Google Warning for exporting info to FB:
"Hold on a second. Are you super sure you want to import your contact information for your friends into a service that won’t let you get it out? "
Facebook Wave Warning: "Hurry and export all your data to us so we can protect it from being stolen or sold. Creating a Facebook Email account is a legal admission that you are handing us your data to look after. Opting out from the Facebook Email program is also an admission that you want us to hold your data, as is starting a lawsuit, dying, or any other circumstance. Thank you for using Facebook Wave"
"Thos who dismiss this hypothesis, merely because it is unproven, display their ignorance of science."
No, it's you being arrogant and insulting.
Get off your high horse and prove people cause global warming
Do you also believe people can live off paint thinner or eating tarmac because i'm sure that's unproven aswell?
"So thanks for playing, Steve. In falsely accusing me of hypocrisy, stupidity and circular reasoning you have exhibited alll these qualities yourself."
I've argued with him many a time for attacking random things in posts, whether debatable or just petty.
And the first point in your argument is the opposite of what i did, i was saying people aren't stupid but just need to do their own research into this before listening to everyone else.
I was basically saying Sheep! Sheep! Sheep! rather than Stupid! Stupid! Stupid!
I'll state fairly John Dee that i don't believe people cause global warming because the IPCC can't prove it and still call for us to tax things without being able to predict the effects.
There will after all with 99% certainty be another of these stories in the next month calling the IPCC into dispute over fudging numbers.
And i would bet on that
Exactly what i was just thinking, and clearly they've already marked you down a bit.
Even with new evidence every week, people who don't believe we cause global warming are silenced by idiots who can spin anything the way they want with absolutely no evidence that people indeed cause global warming.
Despite so much evidence saying global warming is natural and not cause by people (the dinosaurs didn't have cars btw), the people who speak out are silenced by slurs and insults, including the ignoramus the other day who said they were tied to cigarette companies.
So bring on the red arrows anyone who believes the dinosaurs had cars and planes to cause the last ice age and the periods of global warming through history!
Looks that way =]
Another nail in the IPCC coffin.
If more plants and trees appear and spread when temperature increases because of carbon, then more plants and trees will soak up more carbon and again limit the temperature.
Green taxes make no difference and don't help the planet as it can clearly look after itself in this way.
Although i don't like the business practices of Facebook, i would like to see a Googlebook equivalent.
I might seriously consider joining and im not sure why.
I'll put it down to mind control or subliminal advertising.
It would be nice for my gmail, phone, desktop and social life to all link up (with possibly the tv soon aswell) so i look forward to developments here
This is about internet search, not BT or Royal Mail.
Google, even with a monopoly can't squeeze more money from people without charging to use Google, in which case Bing and Yahoo will become the monopolies.
This isn't like sending a letter or making a phone call because they cost money and with monopolies, BT and Royal Mail just get more expensive.
Google can't do that and survive
So to summarise, a monopoly just makes Google better and able to make your satnav cheaper, your internet search easier, and keeps new innovation coming.
BT and Rotal Mail can't compare there, you chose two completely unrelated businesses to compare with something they couldn't fairly.
A big Google is a good thing.
"They have in fact, increased market share, jumped ahead of a rival and struggled to keep up with demand."
Lies, apple lost market share, they just lost less than other manufacturers.
Android and WP7 on the other hand increased market share.
Get your facts right if you want to argue, anyone can make up facts when they don't know what they're talking about
"Since Google are giving all their staff a nice rise and Xmas bonus' perhaps they should accept responsibility for anyone getting infected and pay out for any losses."
It's got nothing to do with Google, it's your phone maker.
Google made the updates available months ago, if you don't have it then blame your network or the manufacturer for not passing the upgrades to you.
I'm still waiting for 2.1 because of Sony Ericsson taking their time!
