Re: Sloth
Attempt to buy it and you'll notice the website prevents you from progressing. Either:
(A) They've noticed the price is wrong but not corrected it.
(B)The price is correct and they've sold out...

"Sounds like word hasn’t gotten to you, @ronwyden. I’ve personally evaluated this issue & have pledged that @tmobile will not sell customer location data to shady middlemen."
That promise isn't worth anything. He pledged not to sell to shady middlemen, not to anyone else.
So, translation: "Sounds like word hasn’t gotten to you, @ronwyden. I’ve personally evaluated this issue & have pledged that @tmobile will only sell customer location data to everyone but shady middlemen" (Shady obviously being vague, and middlemen? If you sell to someone who then sells to the middlemen you're still keeping your crappy pledge.)
"Probably to India as that is much cheaper than importing those Indian GPs."
Was just thinking this...
Prepare for the inevitable calls: (In heavy Indian accent) "Hello, my name Kevin and i offer you tech support...I mean talk you about health concern from N H S..."
Being able to video chat with a GP, instead of waiting a week plus for an appointment, and having to travel there. I'm sold! But, will it ever happen? That's the question.
PS. This could also save a lot of time for GPs and prevent many missed appointments if it's done properly.
"I'm not sure why you'd think it likely that Tigra07 is using Chrome, considering kubuntu comes with FF bundled-in and not Chrome"
Then there's the fact that in just 3 years i've gone from being one of Google's biggest fans, to fearful of the influence they have and how they're using it to destroy competition, influence elections, and generally protect their corrupt monopoly. I avoid Google wherever i can.
"I run a few mint machines at home but also for my friends and family. Once they saw the difference between win10 (or even 8 started it) and a good linux distro they were sold. It has also cut down the 'technical help' I have to provide considerably."
Set them up an Arch Linux machine and you won't hear a peep from them...They'll never manage to get online to complain.
"Almost all of such stuff comes from the right wing"
Bullshit. And even if it did. What business is it of Google to censor the web?
They're supposed to be a search engine, not a global web nanny. If Google becomes biased we all find the wrong information based on what Google wants us to see, instead of what we actually search for.
Try the same search on DuckDuckGo and then Google...
They seem to have moved on and appointed themselves as the world's information source - similar to the 1984 Government. All your information must come from Google, and be approved by Google. Anything else will be censored and pushed down the page rankings.
"Congressman offered a variety of anecdotal examples to claim that Google had a secret liberal agenda but Pichai refused to bite and denied there was any inherent political bias within Google's products"
Funny, that's not what the leaked Breitbart documents showed. Google is censoring Conservative voices and trying to influence elections - This much is fact from both the recordings and leaked documents from the top of Google, Pichai himself.
For anyone not aware, (ironically) Google it and you'll find Pichai telling his staff they have to prevent another election of Donald Trump, and that they failed to elect Hillary, that they need to become the "Good Censor", and restrict freedom of speech of those with different ideals online, and leaked documents on how they rig search and shape opinions and censor online, with the aim of protecting Facebook and Twitter's monopolies in the same pursuit of online bias and censorship. The three are corrupt.
Since when do Google's products work as intended? I've only ever had to return Google's phones/tablets, and no one elses. Google's products look nice, but are absolute dogshit.
This isn't me defending Microsoft either, they're both as bad as each other. Your experience may differ...
They asked for front doors - but were refused, magic keys - also refused, backdoors - also refused, holes in the tunnel or weakened encryption - refused, banned encryption - an obviously stupid idea. Now they want magic crocodile clips. They're all the same thing - magical thinking.
No. This is more like the village bobby coming home with you and listening to everything you say and watching everything you do. See 1984 for where this is headed.
The government wants that bobby to sit in your bed and read all the communications you have with anyone, know what you're doing at all times, contacting at all times, watch TV with you, browse the internet with you. Be under no illusion, we live in a rapidly expanding 1984-esque police state.
"The son, said to have become aware of the fraud no later than April 2013, pleaded guilty to concealing and failing to report his family's fraud scheme and was sentenced to three years of probation. Along with his mother, he is required to return the fraudulently obtained funds."
I misread the end of the article as sentenced to three years of probation along with his mother. Still, she should be getting at least the same sentence as her husband, since she actually perpetrated the scam...
Putting money into your children is still gambling. What if your kid is a failure and decides to spend their life on benefits, or working in a low paying job, unable to pay back all the college and uni fees they racked up? Bad investment, or gambling?
Your comparison was bad and there isn't a massive difference between an investment or gambling. Most of the time there's not even a difference.
1 - The Meerkats now live in a safe enclosure, not a cage.
2 - The meerkats have guaranteed food for life - no hunting for it and going hungry when unsuccesful.
3 - Fans - The meerkats will earn fans from people who will never see a real one otherwise - resulting in sponsorships and aid to their natural habitats.
4 - Free medical care. They don't even have to pay National Insurance Contributions!
5 - A guaranteed standard of living and protection from the elements, poachers, and natural predators (except thieves apparently).
You can call that cruel, but it's a decent standard of living by a big stretch.
