Re: worlds hottest chilli currently for sale in oz
If you watch Man V Food, they often use pure Capsaicin (the stuff which makes chilli hot) which is rated at 16,000,000. I just don't get why anyone would want to do that.

Radiation even in hospitals IS dangerous. It's also dangerous in power generation - but in both cases it's handled very carefully so the benefits massively outweigh the risks.
Claiming 'nuclear is safe' is wrong. Nuclear is only safe when you are absolutely committed to remembering how dangerous it is at all times.
Damn these labour-saving devices. Much better to use your valuable brain paging through 200 channels in the TV guide.
This is clearly a mode you can turn on/off, akin to AI 'DJs' on spotify etc which pick you music to listen to based on what you like.
Exactly. If they lose all the old baddies everyone would be complaining about that too. I think they've kept a good mix of oldies - Daleks and Cybermen are just good inventions** - and new creations... the Angels are probably the best new ones although the Ood are cool too.
**although they've done their best to screw them up making them friendly and emotional
I don't see a problem with making people who host a website responsible for what is posted on it. Of course you can't stop filth getting posted, so the rules should make you responsible either for moderating the content, or for reacting once you know about such content.
e.g. if we started a discussion about how great sex with under-age people was, and El Reg didn't do something about it then they should get in trouble.
What are you on about?
1)People getting sloshed at a dinner party don't then run amok at closing time, or ruin the town centre for those wanting a nice dinner or a pint out.
2)It's the home-bought booze which is the whole target of this idea in the first place, so people are if anything going to see the pub seem cheaper in comparison since pubs charge massively over the minimum prices already.
I never got how this was supposed to work - do Tesco simply add £2 on the cost of a £2.50 bottle of wine and take the extra? Or are they forced to give the money to charity/government/manufacturers? Do ALL booze prices go up or only those that fall under the legal threshold... if the latter then this would surely just destroy companies who create budget booze since people would just buy more expensive variants which are no longer more expensive.
If they really want to be radical, ration alcohol sales :) They do this in Dubai actually, it's a rather weird experience buying booze there.
It's a neat thing to do BUT what makes a song is the author's performance... especially with modern music anyway. Not just obvious things like the tone of their voice, but how they set up the effects on electric guitars. Every artist has a distinctive sound - even from a few bars without singing you can normally tell who the artist is.
An interesting experiment but it's so simple that it didn't need to BE done, the results are so obvious. It's disingenious to evolutionary scientists to claim this proves any aspect of evolutionary theory - it's on a par with Christians claiming proof of intelligent design by cherry-picking some aspect of darwinism and building an argument around it (and I write that as a christian).
But the chances of one eye going wrong is independent of the other... so even if the first goes well, the second is as likely to go wrong.
SOME practitioners DO do it that way, however that means undergoing two procedures and therefore two sets of recovery time, as well as twice as much surgeon time.
More modern lasers are better and apparently this is now not the common side-effect it was in the early days. Halos and so on are widely discussed, but the treatment I had (Ultralase's top one) specifically is supposed to avoid this due to additional accuracies in the laser.
3% are not quite happy with it does not mean 3% have ruined eyesight. OE showed me charts which told me the exact statistical chance each of my eyes had of achieving different levels of sight (both good and bad) based on my initial prescription.
I didn't go with them but they have the data and by spreading lies you're potentially putting people off who think you know what you're talking about. All the 3 places I visited were open that sometimes things can go wrong BUT this is on a per-eye basis, and none of them could recollect ANYONE having sight 'ruined'.
"When Nokia first announced that they were switching to WP7, all the WP7 fans declared that WP7 would be the market leader within a few months"
I've never seen even the most ardent WP fan make any claim that WP is going to be a market leader, ever. I think you made that entire claim up simply so you can attempt to look clever by rebuking it.
Why would they hit the wall - they can just continue downsizing to meet whatever the demand is.
If people are getting a bit tired of the Apple brand - simply because it's not so cool - then maybe a MS brand will have some chance since Android is the no-brand alternative, and lots of people are always going to prefer a brand.
