Re: If you see the whitespace on the site, it's probably because you're blocking an ad.

Just too odd that since yesterday, I see huge swaths of white space "in" the comments... I'm used to the extra clean look of the side columns.

try turning off your your ad and script blockers! Shocked! you will be, shocked!!

Re: "Received a computer" "He also installed Dropbox"

I agree! Yes, we do. I try out tons of stuff, both for professional requests, and personal interest. There is enough of the responsibility pie to go around on this one. I still question giving a new hire access to that much "sort of important" data with little controls, I've not had the experience of working in a very large company, so I might not understand enterprise security completely. but...

I mean, Dropbox, c'mon...

chivo243 Silver badge
WTF?

Re: "Received a computer" "He also installed Dropbox"

I find it incredibly inept that a company like Tesla would allow and employee to install any software on company gear. I'm not sure where to point the the finger of blame on this one. Policy? Enforcement? He got away with DropBox copying files for 3 days before starting again 2 days later and finally raising a flag with the security department?

I think this case deserves a closer look.

Re: Been there done that..

I AM in favor of development, but until lives can be safely risked, let's keep people out of it. I don't think they use real people as crash test dummies in the automotive industry, gas or electric or balloon juice. Why should humans be crash test dummies in space?

Been there done that..

Until space travel is closer to perfection, humans no longer have business traveling to other places space, we've gone into space, visited the moon, some have died in the process. We now know what space can to the human body, The advance in technology since the 60s and 70s rules out the need for human lives to be risked. Sure, head out the to front yard and play in the space station, but don't cross the street...
