Which of the competing technologies for digital radio would consume least power; battery life is the key parameter in all handheld devices.

What about dynamic range?
Bits/sample can be just as important as samples/sec.
For 'pop' there is little dynamic range (everything is LOUD) but for lots of classical (particularly 19th century) there are very large volume changes involved.

Their tablet has local spec to resist water splashes, humidity heat & dust. The point is that with android you can pick the features that matter locally & save costs on stuff that are less important to the bottom end of the market.
It maybe 'landfill' - but if your market is at the 'landfill' level it fits perfectly.

So don't spend much on it whatever you choose -or MAKE IT LESS CONSPICUOUS; Why are these cameras so big when it seems totally unnecessary
Of course expect anything loaded to the cloud to be leaked immediately, so make sure you know when it is off (or just cover it)
