Security Bickering Is Lethal.

Our mutual problem here is that our mutual enemy, our Muslim terrorists within our midst, are out to slit our throats, literally, not simply "moderately".

They're using our Internet to plan and organize this butchery.

Shouldn't the Internet be mutually monitored closely to see just who is communicating with whom, exactly what they're saying in their languages, and just where they are?

My complaints that my pictures of my record shattering penis and testicles will be observed by the GHCQ and posted all over their monitors everywhere are "private" are just silly once I've clicked "Send". Even if they're encrypted.

Nothing on the encrypted/unencrypted Internet should be out of reach of those seeking messages between Muslim terrorists during this time of open War.

We must decide on blanket observation/monitoring between all countries, or none at all.

There simply is no partial solution to finding Muslim terrorists. It's either/or.

So, we must recognize that our mutual Wartime/warlike Muslim enemy has altered our conventional wisdom on Internet communications without asking our permission.

Our mutual Muslim enemies are using us; and using our bickering among ourselves to their advantage.

First, though, we must all agree that we're literally at War with these Muslims.

Don't they remind us of this on a daily basis?

Pretty clever, eh? This turning of our individual data-clicks into countable and bankable pounds and dollars, eh? That's a big 'effing' mass privacy violation. [Vigorously defended, of course]

Hmmmm, then why not let's apply this technique [these techniques] of users' clicks towards identifying the traffic routes of Muslim terrorists and their prospective agents? Channel this valuable technique to save human lives at future kosher markets and at courageous publications' sites?

Meanwhile, on the other side of our World, I ran across this from the excellent website, PJMedia, an article by one David Steinberg dated 19Jan2015:

The dialog is in a rather stilted English translation, but the meaning is quite clear.

Go ahead, read it. Maybe they're only "moderates", eh?

I'm not so sure about the practical efficiency of that statement. How to prevent just that? How can the likes of Facebook and Google not "want" to be a safe platform for anybody? That's the very nature of their business. Those two conflicting interests are butting heads. What will Facebook and Google and their ilk do for revenue/income if they hamper unfettered access to their "platforms"?

How to pick and choose who is "safe" to be a user of their technology? How to choose when to deny access, or GASP!, how to allow the GHCQ access to their data? How to write the in-house protocols outlining the degree of cooperation deigned to be granted by them to anyone?

Did Google and Facebook help with locating the Muslim terrorists in Verviers and Paris? If not, and if they partitioned [is that the correct term?] off their data, then they become accessories to this Muslim terrorism, and deeply complicit.

Lots of righteous smug certitude needs to be punctured......without losing any votes for the next election.

A very welcome set of comments from Bill Gates as a matured [repeat that word "matured" slowly] social awareness I.T. man who's applying his great wealth towards helping out with concrete practical efforts towards our worldwide and desperate public health problems.

Contrasted starkly with those crass, fleeting clicked "likes" of posted inane comments manipulated into a cash flow by that admittedly brilliant but shallow "hoodied" one.

Talk about being "used", and the pimping, pumping of adolescent egos for purposes of using others' for cash - - - like, please, like, get real, and 'un-like' that Zucker-man. He's only interesting as a subject for research.

Maybe in a couple of decades we'll see some maturity from th' hoodie-trademark, maybe not. So he was "awesome" to some selected young Chinese for publicly commenting in Mandarin, kudos for that. Brilliant PubRel.

Otherwise, phooey, there seems to be no substantial "there" there with Zuckerberg.

Perhaps ALL of the World's internet search providers could be charged with being complicit if their "engines" hold data which can prevent further death and destruction instigated by our common Muslim enemy? ....and such data was held back?...in the name of "political correctness"?

The Muslim tactic of "Lawfare" should be turned against those same Muslims who deny our right to live. Right now that seems also to remain "politically incorrect".

Tell that to the people who jumped from the windows the World Trade Center rather than be burned to death. They're the ones who made their tortured decisions.

Try getting a straight answer from Verizon on why your 10Gig/USD80/mo. MiFi "plan" is way over the agreed upon $80.00 when your data usage page indicates that you've not exceeded your allowance.

They'll tell you that "...you made a change in your plan mid-month" or some such, and there'll be a "prorated" adjustment made. Then, try to get an explanation of exactly what "prorated" means in their lexicon....on and on and on.

Then, lo!, if a "credit" is reluctantly and belatedly granted, it's because Verizon, or any of 'em, has had the use of that extra bit of income, multiplied by the thousands upon thousands of their customers with the same question, for whatever length of time they've stalled.

This is the modern telecom ethic. They don't seem to know any better.

Music Preferred?, or Shrieking Vocals/Guitar and Earth Shaking Bass?

What's changed from that old, old layman's analogy of "digital" music being like the flickering florescent light bulb in that the harsher "digital" sound is transmitted as separate 1's and 0's while "analog" music is warmer and smoother because it is transmitted and received as a continuous "wave"?

Isn't this the reason for the continued interest in vacuum tubes and vinyl discs despite all of the hyped-up digital verbiage? Ask people who remember awesome "HiFi" when the term was first popular. Ear structure and sound physics haven't changed, but it seems the hype certainly has been "upgraded".

If all you want is earsplitting guitar twangs and thumping bass with a shrieking vocal, fine. But for classical music lovers, digital transmission is still harsh-sounding.

Looks as if that hooded, oh-so-clever Zuckerberg might now be "hoist on his own petard".

There are two all-dominating, and I mean ALL-dominating ALL social interactions in that part of the world:

1. The word, "Responsibility" and who in particular is the target of the pointed fingers.

2. The concept of "Face" and who loses it and who gains it.

Caveat Emptor LTE

That headline about the Verizon LTE "Faucet" really, really grabbed me. Other Verizon customers seem to be peeved also, if for different reasons.

I'm six weeks' into using [am very disgruntled] Verizon's MiFi LTE Mobile device, it's mouse-sized device instead of a book-sized router with a big fat wire connected to my iMac. Now I'm wireless. Nifty little gadget. Fits in your pocket. Goes anywhere. But there's a lot of potentially costly detail that remains semi-hidden or unmentioned in all of the Verizon blurbs here and there, and on their website.

The staff in their shops give the impression that they're not interested in your questions unless you're in there to actually buy something.

So, caveat emptor, potential buyers .......it suuuuucccckkkks up, vacuums, Hooooovers DATA. Yes, one can monitor one's usage, yes, I - t h i n k - accounts can be decreased. But you must sign up for two years. Do your research to see if this freedom of movement is worth the potential surprises at billing time. The speed is addictive after DSL [at least here in America] but avoid streaming movies, uploading pictures, and all data -heavy apps unless you really, really don't care about surprise monthly overage charges.
