That’s exactly what they’ve been told for years, that this won’t be tolerated any more.

Missing the options...

The encryption of the message in transit will remain secure, without escrow or other back doors.

They will however mandate that it cannot be "end to end", and that the message service provider must have the message available at both ends of the communication to be inspected by someone with a warrant to access the device or central store.

There are LOTS of third party straps out there at a fraction of the Apple prices, and you’d be hard pushed to tell the difference.

You can even get adapters to convert a normal strap (the ones with the spring pins) into an Apple fit.

IIRC you have to do the first one in each domain. You can then join other new version hosts and promote them, move roles, and eventually demote and remove the in place upgraded DC.

Velv

Re: In place upgrades are sometimes a must

Cluster host?

One of the points of clustering is that you can replace nodes. I did this for an NT4 to 2000 cluster back in about 2001. Eject old node and join new node. Move resources. Repeat.

It’s not just about viewing the conversation, it’s about being able to take part in the debate.

You cannot post your opinion if you are logged out, blocking accounts therefore controls (censors) the discussion, potentially limiting comment only to those who support the politician.

"You could see debt collectors come and take things on Friday/Monday."

You can't just "send in debt collectors". Indiegogo will first need a Court judgement that the debt is owed, something that is likely to take months. Collection of the debt can then be attempted, and only if that fails can they apply for a writ in the High Court for enforcement, at which point the Sheriffs can be engaged to remove goods.

Management Advice

I wonder if the incoming manager will be handed three envelopes...

The story of three envelopes is a business classic for dysfunctional organizations. It starts with an incoming manager replacing a recently fired outgoing manager. On his way out, the outgoing manager hands the new manager three envelopes and remarks, "when things get tough, open these one at a time."

About three months goes by and things start to get rough. The manager opens his drawer where he keeps the three envelopes and opens #1. It reads: "Blame your predecessor." So he does and it works like a charm.

Another three months passes and things are growing difficult again so the manger figures to try #2. It reads, "reorganize." Again, his predecessor's advice works like magic.

Finally, about nine months into the new job, things are getting really sticky. The manager figures it worked before, why not try again. So he opens the envelope drawer one last time and opens #3. It reads..."prepare three envelopes."

Ironic, but without knowing the details of who NT1 and NT2 are along with their previous actions it’s impossible to know and comment if the decision in either case is a good or a bad thing.

It does however demonstrate perfectly that massive decisions are made that affect our lives without us ever knowing about it or having any real chance to challenge.
