Ah its matt (or should that be mitt :-D)

first off: Guevara - no i dont have the tee shirt and persnly preferred the poster with the cool black chick with a massive afro smoking a chillum, so i didnt even have that poster on the wall at uni.

so eat shit and die on that one

now to business...

where to begin

okay... AQ;

invented by uncle sam so they could use rico laws to pursue OBL - now where would i get such bollocks??

oh yes, from one William Jefferson Clinton, backed up by one Donald Henry Rumsfeld. although I'm prepared to admit that Mitt,,, er I mean Matt is a much greater authority on the actions of the merkin government than either of these two know nuthin hicks.

The AQ mantle was seized upon up by OBL on account of the notoriety afforded by the aforementioned anti-american revolutionaries. Fundamentalist Islam was never interested in taking the fight to the yanks, or any infidels, they neither liked or trusted OBL, but he did have a shitload of cash and the management skills to help them out with guns and training and stuff, so they humored him. but even now all Hezbollah or the Mujaheddin are interested in is the battle with their own people in their own borders.

so AQ was never 100's of covert cells with sleepers embedded in countries (for the decades before the inception of the organisation - duh) it was a couple of middle management types with satellite phones and Swiss bank accounts. and that's ALL it ever was - but it's a kind of a big ask to stage 2 phoney wars, in the wrong countries just to take out a couple of PHB's

As for the timing of OBL's exit, go on then you explain why the best army in the world (USA! fuck yeah!) took 10 years to find him. Shirley it makes a little more sense that they weren't really looking for the first 7 years. (sorry forgot who I was speaking to! lol sense... as if)

I didn't say obama shut off the spigot of US defence spending, i just pointed out he was never party to the deal bush did with OBL, ergo had no reason to not to find him and terminate with extreme prejudice.

I agree with you it's WAY more than 2-0 to islamic fundamentalists - i was trying to spare your feelings :-) must be tough for you to have had the ass you so lovingly used as a hat all these years handed to you by the merkin public (shouldn't that be merkin pubic?)

I'm free m8, i don't live in the states :-)

Re: AssangeTM & Icke

I cant figure out what proportion go there to take the piss. The guy is clearly a category 5 nutbar (i mean proper delusional) so it's hard to imagine that that many people really believe him (tho some might still be waiting for the snooker to start)

makes me 50/50 sad and angry that he's walking around. (apart from anything else he's going to fuck up all the plans me and my scaly brethren have been hatching these last few millennia)

Assange by contrast 'merely' suffers from a personality disorder, which can be seen as reasonably logical just on the basis of his educational experience, irrespective of how far off the beaten track he was as an individual to start with.

but in terms of value to society at large, Assange wins hands down.

Re: AssangeTM & Icke

excellent stuff!

Naughtyhorse

Re: It doesn't harm to give neophytes a head up now and again ...

lol you really believe that AQ was a conventional organisation don't you, poor thing!

It was just an agency. OBL stayed 'lead free' cos that's the deal he made with the great satan. he lives free and easy for the entire bush presidency, not trying too hard to stay hidden, (while certain defence contractors make beeeelions out of merkin paranoia) then leadership changed, all deals were off, pretty soon he was dead. not hard to join those dots.

in so far as I've seen the overwhelming majority of those in gitmo are a) innocent b) footsoldiers - so all in all well worth the expenditure of the US's entire reputation (such as it was) on the world stage.

so that's US 0 - Islam 2 by my reckoning.

yeah they hate us cos we're free!

Naughtyhorse

Re: Where do the politicos think this "extra" tax will come from?

cobblers

the 'extra' tax comes out of company profits (the ones they are trying to hide)

because for the last 100+ years you and idiots like you have gone to great lengths to point out that THE MARKET fixes prices not THE COMPANY.

the market price for a cup of coffee is NOT determined by starbucks, if they have to start paying UK corporation tax then they will have to suck it up and find the money, or rick having costa + world +(barisata)dog ( AFAIK tax paying) rip the guts out of them.

and at the next shareholders AGM with starfucks reporting zillion dollar losses (genuine) the shareholders get to ask 'so hows that market dominance think working out for us these days?'

if this is the kind or arguement we get from a 'finger on the pulse, red blooded, free market, Im alright jack - fuck you' kinda capitalist, it's no wonder the world economy is in the shitter.

Amazon do not operate a delivery fleet, ergo road fund licences and fuel tax are not paid by them either.

not sure what a financial transaction tax is..

you might mean stamp duty - paid on building purchases (wanna bet all them tin sheds amazon use are leased)

or you might mean SRDT paid on share purchases, for which over 70% of transactions are exempt, and the rate is 0.5%

Re: Guilty until PROVEN innocent???

lol...

have you followed this story at all over the last year or so?

it would appear not.

you are not sure whether or not murdoch can ruin someones career? really??

(FFS even R Brooks can see that for bollocks - whahahahahahaha)

the vanishingly small minority of the British public that read a red top, are by and large not politically (with a small p) engaged in the slightest - they just want to see the tits on page 3, whats on telly, the racing form, stock prices, or how immigrants have effectively killed the Britain we know and love from the 1930's.

I believe Judges put people in jail, and there is some sort of mechanism that keeps the govt from fucking with the judiciary (i could be wrong, but im pretty sure im not)

cameron cant disappear people (it's not like he's blair or something) - spend a few minutes with the bloke who's only crime's were

a) to rent a property to a young woman who was subsequently murdered.

b) to be a bit... creepy

he's had to disappear himself FFS - all the free presses doing.

"he doesn't have an entire country full of police who (broadly) will do what he wants."

Orly? - i refer you to clause 1 of this rant - have you been following this story at all? giving evidence to parliament beckah brooks didn't even realise that giving the police bungs was illegal. and needed the legal nigel sat behind her to walk her back from a clear admission of bribing a public official.

oligarchs V monomaniacal presidents??

so you are saying the president might be a crook, so lets hand the show over to a bunch of people who we KNOW are crooks.???

you might be happy to have big business run your country (what could possibly go wrong there!)

but your stance kinda poses the question just what is the fucking point in even pointing in the general direction of a democratic system.

Re: red herring

that's true...

however speaking as someone who walked away from the entire british print media two decades ago, i'd just like to see them cut, and cut til they bleed.

all this talk about the higher idealism of 'freedom of the press' is all smokescreen. how free is the editor of the sun to write on 'his' front page just exactly what it is that the entire population of this country really thinks about murdoch?

so much for freedom of the press (end your internal dialogue, you are wrong, get over it)

broadcast media is subject to specific legislation, yet contrast the manner in which the BBC has covered it's own internal strife (esp the fact that panorama effectively blew the whistle on newsnight) with the utter dis-interest shown by the chip wrapper brigade to the phone hack scandal for months.

Re: MP stands for Media Prozzy, right?

it's referring to a piece by some uber-right wing shill in the reg last week. desperately trying to justify the stance that corporation tax was unfair and should be abolished. he failed, miserably, and he and his friend spent pretty much all day trying hard to fend off the righteous anger of me and my fellow lilly-liverd-pinko-socialist-loony-left-moron (apparently the British communist party is alive and well and all working in IT - who'd have thunk it) commentards.

Remember only the end customer pays raw material costs - so i guess it's good business practice for companies to support and install a violent thuggish genocidal regime, say in Africa somewhere, where there just happens to be a shitload of, say Coltan (no names no pack drill), then go on to make a killing in the consumer electronics business while washing their hands of the millions of killings they are responsible for elsewhere.
