Yes Stuart 22, But then again what was there for you to gain. Who ever they are selling what ever they sell they are probably under payed and hoping to find something better to do. So why fuck with them. It's not that I don't get disturbed by those phone calls but I cut them off with something like "sorry I am broke" or "my wife took all my money" or "I am just going to jail" or whatever. Why should I fuck with them. You mentioned KDE and that reminds me of something that happened to me some five years ago. On my journey to the country side I stopped in a town and got a dongle for my laptop. Hell if I got that working, but I did phone that ISP and having spent 10 sec him assuming a Windows problem I told him I use such and such Linux distribution, and to my surprise he was a Linux user at home if not at work and promised to phone me the next day. And that he did, and it was all RFM due to me but then again the RFM was on the internet. Am I getting old, fuck yes, but on the phone no.

However, some time ago I had a look, on Youtube, at a discussion about evolution and our brains. The boffin was asked if our brains are all similar. So how did he respond. "On this side we have brains like Einstein's and on the other side we have Sarah Palin's" using his left and right arm. The audience got it, no doubt about that.

But when I have read all these comments. including my own, and I think, and believe, there is some sound combination of sarcasm and attempts towards humour in most the comments, it's also obvious that a reader might find the same comments ill spirited and rude. Especially when we write about topics like politics and religion.

The fart, however, compared to both Palin and Trump, is more rewarding, interesting and normal.

Years ago I took my old father home from a good dinner with the appropriate amount of brandy, top floor. In the crowded elevator down, he had to let it out, loud and clear with all possible spices. Oh my deity that was terrific, the damn elevator become the slowest moving object in the universe. I felt so damned embarrassed, but then I looked at his face and I realized there was still some guts left in him, he was silently smiling. We get softer when getting older, and so is that damn multipurpose muscle down there controlling important output. Intelligent design, not.

In a situation like that, what you do is to turn your head and shout "who did that". Works every time, I do it all the time given an opportunity. Escalators are rather rubbish, better down than up then, however.

And as they say, people need people, farting alone is a wast of joy.

C'mon Drs. Security, we all know there is fierce competition between Boeing and Airbus, as there should be. I have no problem with Americans supporting Boeing and Europeans supporting Airbus, I, for instance, rather operate my own penis than somebody others. But the fly-by-wire is just stupid, if it was the other way around Americans would claim fly-by-wire is the modern way and Airbus is far behind using old technology. We both know this. As for your imaginary, or not, friend he certainly was not talking about the Dreamliner as that is fly-by-wire like are most fighter planes, probably all.

As for the title "pilots have forgotten how to fly", looking at all the "air crash investigation" programs it seems to me it is more about "pilots who forget to fly" fucking around with light bulbs and similar.

We also know that competition is a pain in the arse for companies like Boeing and Airbus, Coca-Cola and Pepsi and all the rest. For us consumers competition is good, but like always there is a drawback too behind each and every word. Just look at the internal traffic in the USA operated by the oldest fleet of aircraft in the western world by pilots who would have shorter hours and more or less the same pay working for McDonald's was it not for their dream of becoming pilots, and their lack of strong trade unions if any. Then again in Europe they go on strike every now and then witch of course is very annoying for consumers.

As for the automation, there is no way back, and I suppose pilots, very much fucked by all the bean counters, have been left behind. Eventually pilots will not be needed in the air and on the plus side it will be impossible to repeat any 9/11 event.

Suppose you start working in Big Pharma and you find out that the company is cheating and putting all users at risk, nothing new there. Should you then react or not. Like with Snowden, or not, it becomes a moral question and most likely also a question of courage.

So lets not forget that it's we the people who elect the government not the other way, although, as always they tend to think they select the people, nothing new here. In a perfect world the government would self regulate it self. But until then it's we the people who have to do it, who should do it and need the courage to do it.

In the same way the government and us should regulate the business, and they hate it, for the simple reason that business has no moral obligations toward anyone but perhaps their shareholders. Skip all regulations for the food industry and you will eat horse shit as superC butter or something. You Americans have been in a newer before seen brainwash regarding regulations regarding the industry. Please wake up before there is only one ISP to "choose" between.

As for Snowden I doubt I had the balls to do what he did, but again it's we the people who has the obligation and right to expose the government, and they hate it, and they have no choice but to hate it, Then it's up to you, the people, how to feel about it. And again dear Americans, wake up, you have been screwed for a long time.

I have exactly the same feeling, lots of rubbish that will stop working within 3 years and is not worth fixing as it will cost less to buy a new one whatever, which is of course the whole point. I will try to stay away from it as long as possible.

I would agree too. If Apple has to be mentioned for some silly reason then mention Woz as this is about programming but even that is just silly. If you want to mention the first personal computer then write about Olivetti Programma. If you want to mention the world's first programmable computer then write about the functional program-controlled Turing-complete Z3 (1941) by Konrad Zuse. Mentioned in another comment here too.

English has become so widespread that you cannot hide any longer just tapping Anglo-American shoulders. And as you know ElReg is read in many countries to day, I like that. There was some stats about it some years ago.
