my new Ticwatch E arrived last week. It was £100 all in on the kickstarter but now can be got for a shade over £130

It's excellent as an augmentation to my phone which sitis in my pocket most of the day now.

The only slight annoyance is the dumbarsed swipe left/right for watchface change but I hope Google will change that soon.

Better idea, if you report an image has been shared why don't they hash that and warn the scum sharing it that they have broken the rules.

I dunno actually policing their platform might be an idea... considering the amount of data they PUBLISH.

User viewing Real world with overlayed computer generated elements = Mixed Reality

User viewing totally computer generated 3D environment with no real world elements = Virtual Reality

Had this from the IT tech side before

it's ALWAYS the Marketing marpets or Sales twonks who screw this up, and seem to have limited grasp of legality as to software licences (or anything else to be honest, Data protection is an inconvenience to be ignored. if they even get the concept)

it's a great way to gauge interest

and for a Chinese company with limited resources in the west an ideal way to deliver a product before locating western partners or full distribution.

smart watches are definitely not essential

But I love my Ticwatch 2 and have pre ordered on kickstarter their new Ticwatch E http://kck.st/2uluDXp as at about £120 its a sensible price for everything it gives me. The ease of doing simple things that yes, I can do them on my phone (get it out of my pocket, unlock it) is brilliant. It saves me seconds and is much less intrusive than doing these on with phone e.g.

Google/MS auth acceptance/codes

check txt/email message if it urgent

Timers

Calendar notifications

Fitness tracking

Navigation

There's probably a few more (controlling Iot devices like wemo switches/lights) but that lot I use regularly. I know my phone does them but that's like saying why use your phone calendar when your diary can do it. Not the point.

There is a use case for the smartwatch and wearable tech. They haven't all hit the right mark as too many are just fashion accessories and too expensive. Battery life is still the biggest problem.

Lynch's Dune was good, lots of people agree

No he is still credited with it and has his name on it, just not all cuts. The studio did a butchered god awful cut of it which is credited to Alan Smithee. Lynch has issues with this version but still support his version the theatrical release

If villeneuve pulls off Blade Runner and they have a good script for Dune we'll see.

Vaping isn't cool

I think you are wrong as I do know people who quit years ago taking up vaping and also kids starting instead of smoking... It's considered non harmful and enjoyable so yeah it's 'cool'

Can't even find a lenovo watch for sale in the UK... weird.

Assume the pebble is in the 'others' category which is surprising considering the interest in that seemed very high for their new model.

Having tried the Rift

I was very impressed, it is not a fad (this time) and shouldn't be dismissed lightly. Yeah it's expensive and yeah it's still a gen 1 product which everyone knows is buyer beware (apple watch anyone?). If I could afford it I would have one right now and there are compelling experiences on iit (Adrift, Radial G to name a couple).

It's very easy to sneer, which this article proves in spades.

Red/Blue lenses? I don;t think you have a clue how cardboard or pretty much every modern VR headset works - it's not just a 3d gimmick..

Has the first script kiddie been released yet? Obviously it is a hard task to find the actual hacker as Talk Talk's security was about as strong as a single ply tissue there must be millions of possible perps...

Fanatical?

Have been using them for their email service and can't wait to leave. Have had an issue with part of our service for nearly a year and still they cannot solve it, we've had to find a sensible workaround. Not to mention issues with not supporting IE 10 or 11 at one point, asking us to downgrade.. Closer to farcical support so wouldn't trust them with cloud.

They do talk a s good talk but haven't delivered for us.

One issue though with my Nexus 5 it appears that the battery runs down faster after qi charging than normal usb. Anybody else noticed this?

and it is indeed thin light and lovely. Battery life is excellent and performance first class.

Best tablet on the market I would easily say as it does beat the ipad Air in every respect. A dream to use!
