GNU/Linux Touch Displays
I have am abomination of a desktop from HP with a touch screen, came with Vista, put 7 on it with an SSD - the thing works pretty well ... I do have Debian on it as well and the touch screen is detected and drivers loaded automatically.
This means that I can use either, mouse and touch screen.
I have not tested it on unity, but the unity ui is a touch-centric ui - say what you want, guyz, but half inch by half inch icons are for touch devices, not pointing devices - the same holds for the default menu in gnome 3 as well - this I tested and it works pretty well. Now, I never use the touch screen (except for the tests), nor do the kids except for the 2 year old, she loves it - mainly because she still has coordination issues with pointing devices!
Tuxpaint on a 17" touch screen is great for toddlers, but touch screens on desktops are otherwise useless.
So Metro/Unity/Gnome 3 have become toddler uis.

Stylus ?
The whole point here is that to use the iphone you do not NEED a stylus, you could use one if you wanted. It is much easier to draw with a stylus, for example, than with your finger.
There are plenty of stylus models for iOS devices.

I assume the ipad they will be bringing out will have a stylus, however, it will accept your finger input as well - and that is the whole point. Back then, a stylus was the only thing you could use on other devices, well, maybe you could manage with your fingernail, but that was hard.

I agree with 1, somewhat with 2 (I use rsync, no mounts), but 3 ? Shit happens, bugs happen ... wait for Steam to mature a bit before you trust it, I would say.
In Linux/FOSS you have bleeding edge and stable, bleeding edge has more goodies, yet, shit can happen that YOU are expected to fix. Stable is as its name implies, pretty stable. Choose bleeding edge, learn a whack in no time and have fun.

If you think for a minute, stop being a bigot [the same holds in France, Germany, Belgium, wherever], why would Blair, Cameron, or Brown say the EU has too much power over the UK ? MEP's have been elected by citizens of all member states, they control the commission [commission members are elected by the parliament], just like the British gov (except that the head of commission is chosen by Cameron, Merkel and Hollande (the other heads of state do not really have a say, well, I guess they could veto, maybe), then parliament votes him/her in or out).
So, why do gov's keep scaring the shit out of the Brits about EU ? Because if the EU gets too much power, they will be out of work - as easy as that.

UK is making many times more from the EU as it is than it is contributing to it.
The world is changing, we need a big market to compete with Asian giants (India, China). Can UK ban Chinese imports on its own ? What effect will it have if they threaten to do it ? What impact does it have if a market 10 times bigger threatens to ban imports ? Right.
Imagine the EU football team, the best players of all European Nations ... unbeatable, unbeatable ... a dream team. It is exactly the same economically ... together we are bigger than China or US, GDP wise. Together we can say fuck off to whichever nation we want.
These are things UKIP does NOT understand. Their miracle solutions are mirages, in France we have the same, with Le Pen wanting a return to the <jokeAlert>sesterce</jokeAlert>.
The worst of all is, the UK education system has produced a nation of bigots. I am sorry, you really need to have lived abroad to understand what EU is all about (it is not your fault, it is what you were taught). I have met numerous Brits abroad who admitted they only just discovered what this was all about. If the UK government had any common sense back in the 80's and 90's, London would have been the European Stock Exchange, not Frankfurt. Blame Maggy!

Please, you do not know what you are talking about. They are bringing specifically modified cars, with overinflated tires for example, different clutches etc to the test.

You do not take the bus, do you ? Of course not, if you did, you would know that since the cultural revolution of 1979, you can no longer rely on any time tables for public transport in the UK. Actually, you can tell from the finger print which finger it is. They could be at quite a distance - all they need to know is the finger you used. It is on there unless you use gloves ... do you not hold backspace a few times when you type passwords in public places - I do sometimes forget, but try to stick to it (type something, first x letters are good, then hold backspace to delete more than one character - as many as required to get to x letters - then type on) ?
I have fat fingers and do it accidentally as well ... I mistype my passphrase quite often ... a sentence full of silly typos.

You can get an sd card adapter that converts a micro sd card into a plain sd card as well ... no, you cannot launch any apps from it, just like unhacked android phone. Not sure you can write to it ... I guess you can.

Fanboys have been downvoting you ... maybe because they claim you can install a non-Sony Android firmware, but come on guyz ... as for 64Gb SSD, that was a silly mistake ... but don't worry, you are not alone ... I believed what the android fanboys say on el'reg and got my son and wife Sony Xperia M's ... 2 Gb internal storage, but a beefy sd card would make up for that ... I had to download the SDK to issue some kung fu to get the phones to use the sd card as application storage ... did not work :( ... it worked on a no-name tablet, so I did the kung fu right.

I am not a Linux fanboy, sorry. Lets cut marketing crap and talk about the facts:
Today, .Net only really runs on Windows. They tried to bring it to OS X and Linux with mono, traction failed to materialized. Most stuff simply DOES NOT run on mono. Back in the day, I approved mono, thought it was a good move. I have to acknowledge that there simply is no traction.
Now, they are open sourcing the runtime and IDE. The legitimate question is why ? There is no valid reason, imho, for them to do that other than reacting to a difficult position. I do not believe your cloud BS ... they only offer Linux in the cloud as an option because they need to cater for their customers ... MS are not big in the cloud, they fail epically in terms of reliability - as the number of articles on el'reg attest. They cannot even renew certificates yearly, they made that mistake TWICE, not once, TWICE, in a run!!!!!
So, lets assume, for one second, that .Net is as great as you say. That should be crown jewels and should be used to maintain Windows hegemony. Reality is it is crap, the ecosystem is losing developers in great numbers. Linux is gaining more and more momentum in the server rooms. Now, Linux/UNIX does not need .Net, we have the best of breed tools and interfaces, Linux/UNIX dev's will NEVER EVER embrace mono/.Net/WhatEverYouCallit as we have much better stuff already, and have had for decades.
I could not care less for .Net/VB or whatever on Linux/UNIX, seriously, we do not care, we laud the effort, it simply does not fit into our paradigm. I am simply saying, the move proves that they have realized how futile they are.

Read that article again. They have one guy, who does not like the Norks, claim they did not have enough cash last time they came round to his shop ... that same person has also claimed he saw them in a car boot sale. The exact same person has also been demonstrating against NK.
I guess you will agree, not the best witness/source you could dream of, here, mate, right ?
The verification of said story has been poor as well - they ask some guy in the know ... who confirms they are not well paid, well off etc. Which is undoubtedly the case, however, does not at all verify the claims of the shopkeeper.
The worst part ? The traffic fines ... "the embassy in London has accrued more than £200,000 worth of unpaid traffic-related fines" - that is true for most/all embassies in London, similar in France and Germany as well for the simple fact that CD's do not have to pay traffic, parking, etc fines. The fines accumulate over the years ... Saudi Arabia representation probably has 10x that number in unpaid traffic fines.
This whole article smells of poorly researched BS.

Yes, I sent a request for correction, along with an extract of the GNAME announcement.
This basically means that 99.99% of Linux git clients are not affected. It also means that 1% of Mac OS X clients are not affected - real men use a case-sensitive OS/FS - HFS+ can be and SHOULD BE set to case-sensitive, not only is it better, imho, you also expose code from window cleaners turned OS X devs, and that is priceless. If it does not work on a case-sensitive FS, you should not use it.
