Re: IR35 changes that culled experts from projects across multiple sectors.
Aww, did your tax dodge stop working? Don't worry, I'm sure you're still vastly overpaid!

Never attribute to malice that which is adequately explained by stupidity https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Hanlon%27s_razor
Fuck off. Cruise Control means I stop continuously monitoring the vehicle's speed and concentrate on getting where I'm going safely.
It also highlights all you dicks who can't stand to be behind a smaller car so overtake, and then go slower than me.
I'm on cruise bud, my speed hasn't changed, you're just a dickhead.
Wouldn't it be terrible if all officers like this were held accountable for their actions.
It's an app that takes your left over FOOD items and combines them into "recipes". If bleach is a food item to you then the app is behaving correctly.
What's much more interesting is the way "Users put household cleaning items into list of foods" has become "Evil AI tricks consumers into eating bleach".
El Reg spinning this the same as mainstream media is a little disappointing.
It's the Nazi Bar problem. Doesn't matter whether your pub is the Nazi bar or not, what matters is that people think it's the Nazi bar. Twitter is the Nazi bar and Space Karen obviously wants it that way.
Not many major brands want to advertise in the Nazi bar, even in the kids play area.
MS tried that and Vivaldi would've had the same problem.
As soon as it got popular Google would change the code of youTube to work well for Chrome and badly for Vivaldi. Vivaldi panic, find the problem area, rush a fix out. Google revert the change and implement something else that again works fine on Chrome but causes issues for Vivaldi. Rinse and repeat until Vivaldi give up and start using the Chrome rendering engine.
You all understand how evil MS were bundling IE with Windows. You seem to have no idea that Google owning the web and the browser is far worse monopoly abuse.
No, there really isn't, all that shit stirring didn't really convince anyone new.
But nice to see the paranoia extends to the republicans running this "investigation".
You know that they're the ones spreading the Hunter Biden story, yeah?
Here's another anecdote: https://www.techdirt.com/2023/06/28/social-media-was-useful-for-me-as-an-ill-nerdy-teenager/
But what does actual science say about social media: https://www.techdirt.com/2023/06/28/no-social-media-is-not-the-same-thing-as-lead-paint/
The mainstream media tells us, repeatedly, that social media is bad. You can follow the money to work out why that is.
Sounds like you don't understand the underlying tech.
Threads is an activityPub app, it uses the same protocol as "crap like Mastadon", but it allows you to sign up using instagram creds.
In the future, in theory, threads could federate with Mastadon instances.
Likewise if someone uses Amazon web services and leaves their buckets unsecured. The computer with the unsecured bucket is Amazon's, hence it's Amazon's fault.
Likewise if someone posts abuse on Twitter. The computer sharing that abuse it Twitter's, hence it's Twitter's fault.
Likewise if someone is hit by a Ford Mondeo. The vehicle doing the hitting is a Ford, hence it's Ford's fault.
I can't see a problem with any of this logic!
Conservative: I have been censored for my conservative views
Me: Holy shit! You were censored for wanting lower taxes?
Con: LOL no...no not those views
Me: So....deregulation?
Con: Haha no not those views either
Me: Which views, exactly?
Con: Oh, you know the ones
