Re: "broke"?

It's completely their responsiblity though. This isn't a bolt out of the blue revelation, it's something they were fully aware of throughout the development of this system. They were fully aware that people sell cars. If they didn't put in place a robust mechanism to deal with this fact then they are at fault.
I don't think that's the kind of trust we're talking about (not that google's cloud seems to be particularly robust if the articles on here are anything to go by).
The question is whether Google can be trusted to not try and monetise your data. Going on previous the answer to that is no.
So it's not better, you're just familiar with doing it the old way. I don't have a problem with that. My problem was with the original "invented better elsewhere" comment.
Powershell is different to most command lines because of it's piping and it's state management. That's worth investigation if you're interested in technology, however familiar you are with your current way of working.
I guess the facts of this depend on whether manufacturers build notch shaped displays from scratch or not. If the notch means cutting a bit of working screen out then it's a waste. If the manufacturers can build them that way then I guess they're ugly but potentially useful.
Sorry, my bad, clearly none of you in these four pages of comments have got your knickers in a twist.
And jake, you're really out of order there mate. You don't have to cook vegan for people, you can just not cook for them. To deliberately feed them something they've told you they don't want is pretty shitty.
How would you feel if I fed something you believed to be pork that turned out to be human? It's all just about where you draw the line, and it's my line for me, not yours.
You are getting paid at least twice the "permie" rate though, something "conties" always seem to forget to mention.
Even after tax that means you get paid more for the same work.
And it's not like you don't use the facilities and services that the taxes pay for, is it?
I've done both types of work, just used an umbrella when contacting, still made excellent money.
Not really the same thing is it. They didn't come out with the 7 as a replacement for the 5.
For your comparison to work BMW would have to be currently producing two models of the 7, one from 2 years ago and one newer, slightly bigger more expensive one. If that was the case, and customers preferred the 2 year old model to the current one, they you'd be bang on the money!
It's not the case though is it. Apple released the X to replace the 8, but customers prefer the 8. That's all this story is saying.
Google are against it. They have a fuck sight more money than McCartney, which they make in a lot of cases by distributing copyrighted material they don't have a right to use.
McCartney made his money by creating music. Google have made a lot of theirs off of other people's creativity.
So to your mind my pc is the cloud? That's really all there is to it? The distribution across contintents isn't part of it? The ability to rapidly scale up and down isn't a thing?
I get your point, when I use the cloud it's not my computer and I don't control it, but don't pretend the cloud doesn't have any benefits to go along with the bad bits.
"all over the country folks are having their children kidnapped by state agencies because those agencies believe that children allowed to walk a few blocks home from school by themselves constitutes neglect and deserves removing the children to foster care"
As true as that.
Your list is bobbins! this is mine:
Proper video calls like in the films
Laser weapon that can cut through a mustang engine block
Holographic projector to make me look like anyone I choose
Holographic projector to make me invisible
Universal (not just earth) real time voice translation
anti gravity function
tells the time
I agree. They had a terrible rep and had to do something about it. The problem is that the marketing droids have turned it into "security updates and new features" which actually means "security updates and fucking with existing features you like to make them worse".
I'm no fan of the knee-jerk anti MS brigade, but in this case they have a point. (CURSES!!)
Why not? The list of alternatives supplied here is shorter than in my original question. Good to hear that Bob's is still in development but what are the other IDEs that VS isn't substantially better than? Just saying "it's not that much better" is no help if you don't add "than" and give alternatives.
Bollocks. Flip to answer and close to hang up are great features that I still miss. A small phone that opens up to one large enough to put a speaker by your ear and a mic by your mouth is functionally better than one where the mic has to filter out loads of extraneous noise. A flip phone can't be accidentally activated in your pocket because it's locked till it's opened.
3 functional improvements right there.
I doubt that the website accurately reflects stock levels in every store. It's perfectly possible that the central warehouse servicing the web could be out of something that is still in stock at some local stores.
Sounds like you don't like shopping in PoundLand.
