Re: Eugenics - Sometimes a good decision - is what I think.
What makes you think an big IQ gives you more right to life?
It's your complete lack of emapthy that makes me think your genetics are flawed.

That's the problem right there. Google launched Android with no thought for updates, originally claiming that it couldn't be done. They've dragged their heels over this for years, allowing billions of flawed devices to be distributed.
Some people will point the finger at the vendors but they didn't create an OS with no update mechanism, they just decided a free OS was too good a deal to miss.
With black list becoming denylist and master becoming main?
Are there any other genuine suggestions for change that people have seen? The only things reported here have been whitelist/blacklist and master/slave.
This "where will it end" stuff is known as the slipperly slope fallacy.
master
with main
across its services
It's not a straw man at all. Look at Marvin Rees, the black mayor of Bristol, being asked why he hadn't removed the statue of colston. If the first thing a black mayor did was remove statues of white slave traders can you imagine the backlash?
That's why white people have to join the fight. You think this change is stupid? Suggest something better!
This isn't people who are offended by the word master. This is people who've been part of a racist system all their lives trying to find ways to change that system.
Black people can't change white society. White people have to change to fix institutional racism. This is little more than tinkering around the edges but it's SOMETHING and people are desperate for some way to help.
So instead of moaning about the loss of your beloved terminology come up with something more constructive we can do to eliminate racism. The current system is broken. Saying that it should work, that it should be a meritocracy, achieves nothing. So what are we going to do to fix it? If changing language doesn't help, what will?
So one experience of discrimination makes you qualified to comment on white on black racism.
An accent doesn't open you up to the same level of abuse that a black skin does. You're not going to get singled out immediately on sight.
It's not nice to be picked on, maybe there's a lesson for you in that experience. Rather than resisting change, why not think of something you can do to help? If changing the names of things is so pointless maybe you can suggest some changes that would address discrimination better?
Despite all you geniuses telling them how wrong they are.
Wouldn't it be lovely if the people trying to change things for the better outnumbered those trying to stop them? As this goes on, and more and more code gets changed to remove the word slave, how far are you prepared to go to keep it?
Why are you so invested in having the word slave in code you use?
Nintendo Switch Games at retail are often an empty box with a download code in. So not only a hideous waste of resources but you have to type in some ridiculous string of nonsense to get the game you just paid for!
But, it's the way the industry is going. If you don't have a physical copy you can't sell it on. It makes financial sense for games companies to cripple the second hand market. It makes financial sense for games companies to avoid manufaturing physical products, they're software developers. Much easier to allow 50,000 downloads than manufacture 50,000 disks.
On the plus side, having a box with a big browsable list of games built in is very convenient....
Did that original someone *ever* do anything else 'worthwhile' for that open source project? Or any other?
I'd like to seriously know. My guess: No. REAL developers care about programming and functionality and quality. NOT racism and systemic oppression.
Fixed it for you.
When it's a drive that tells another drive exactly what to do then the wording makes sense and i can't think of anything more appropriate.
For the main branch of a repo "master" doesn't really convey what it is.
Blocklist and allowlist are much clearer names than blacklist and whitelist.
Dll hell was caused by multiple apps on the same device requiring different versions of dependencies. As dlls were shared that couldn't be resolved.
Giving each app it's own versions of its dependencies is a way of avoiding dll hell.
I'm not saying this a good thing but it avoids that specific problem.
