We're absolute mugs working in the UK, especially those in web development it seems.
It seems I am only 40% as valued as they like to tell me I am at every staff development review.

We might still have had a car industry if it hadn't been nationalised.
Forty percent of the car industry was nationalised because the component companies were too small to survive on their own in the face of Japan's rise. When parts of British Leyland were demerged and privatised in the 1980s most went to the wall. The fractions which survived are now mostly in foreign ownership.
Keep him away from actual sharp knives, pointy scissors, staplers and bleach.
And cable cars and zipwires and bicycles and bizarre post-Olympic structures. Oh yes, and bridges.
Better yet, just return him to private life. He can then get back to the things he does best, like philandering and threatening old friends, away from the public eye.
Also try to stand in traffic while waiting for the lights to change stuck behind some moron who has removed all the stuffing from their already anti-social exhaust (or removed the catalytic converter)
This is what potatoes were invented for.
(Don't worry about the moron spotting you inserting the potato -- they can't see shit through their tinted windows and they don't know what rear-view mirrors are for either.)
Nor did playing in the band which for many years held the record for the loudest in history
This reminds me of the various accounts of damage reportedly caused by the loudest bands.
I really shouldn't laugh. Having seen Deep Purple and Motorhead half a dozen times, maybe I was just lucky.
So you can turn the red lights on then drink beer and play ping-pong without any interruptions?
There may necessarily be some beer-induced interruptions, unless you're suitably prepared.
They also wallowed like pigs.
If I remember correctly they couldn't be used in anything above a Force 5 wind. I went on a school trip to France in 1977, and we were shifted to the ferry because the hovercraft couldn't be taken out. We did get the hovercraft back, but the wind and waves were still high enough to throw everyone around. Not fun when a number of kids had spent their last francs on fizzy pop and sweets...
Sadly, despite having space technology, Vesta hadn't bothered with flavour technology...
Quite true. Despite not having eaten a Vesta curry since my very distant student days, your comment instantly brought to mind the sensation of the texture of Vesta beef and noodles, but absolutely no sensation of its taste.
If you want to know what your side are doing wrong - read theirs.
Yeah, I can just see the Three Brexiteers perusing Der Spiegel every day...
i.e. if the sun puts out MORE light+heat+other_radiation then it kinda tends to WARM the PLANET, ya know?
I expect Bob will be able to produce solid evidence that the sun has been putting out 'MORE light+heat+other_radiation', and also explain why the measured increase in greenhouse gasses in the atmosphere has a much less significant effect.
You forgot the advertising vid.
When you are out on bail you are not allowed access to guns
It's America. In most states they have piss-easy access to guns, thanks to the sterling work of the wonderful NRA. If someone on bail decided to vanish, do you really think they couldn't also find a gun if they wanted to and had $250 spare?
It has to be hate specifically directed at a person because of their ownership/association of a protected characteristic
Unfortunately that's considered as 'political correctness gorn maad' for the people who don't have enough mirror neurons to be able to put themselves in someone else's shoes.
we are trying to make a certain religion integrate into society that doesn't believe in our values
I too am sick of fundamentalist Christians killing doctors and firebombing women's clinics, of denying young people good sex education, of 'praying the gay away' and of claiming that their interpretation of what their favourite spirit in the sky wants is better than anyone else's interpretation of that or any other spirit in the sky's desires.
Funny but for all of the guns that were worn by the far right, not a single shot was fired.
That's your main take-away point? It doesn't concern you that carrying weapons to a demonstration is a show of force and a threat of violence in itself? It doesn't exactly indicate a peaceful intent.
Of course logically they should have also opposed Russian intervention in Syria but for some reason they didn't have a big march about that....
Not every protest makes it to your television screen in glorious technicolour. It doesn't mean they don't happen.
Your implication that the left in the UK loves Russia is also ridiculously out of date (if it were ever true of all but the extreme left), but please carry on making that mistake because it helps warn people that you haven't been paying attention for 30 years or more.
