What do you call an all-in-one PC that isn't? 'Upgradeable', says HP

Youngone Silver badge

My boss will hate it

I have purchased a tiny Dell desktop for one of my users that fits on the back of a monitor nicely, uses standard connectors and costs about half what that does.

Price is the main concern where I work, and we won't pay extra for things to look good, although I accept others might.

I'm not sure I would believe any of Mandalay Bay Resort & Casino's explanations here, also:

If any of the injured parties cared to I imagine they could ask a judge to give his or her views about that statement.

Re: "The United States needs to define a new set of international rules"

The part that caught my eye was: "The United States is more vulnerable than any other country in the world to a cyberattack, warns Haines, because so much of it is dependent on the internet".

Really? I thought, not like those Germans living in their caves, and those Koreans who barely have the use of fire (I could go on, but I think I've made my point).

No we Americans rely on the Internet so much more than them, but goodness we're so frightened.

Advertising has always struck me as something of a con.

In a previous life I dealt with one of the huge multi national advertising agencies, and the vast amounts of money they raked in never really seemed to have any bearing on the results they produced.

None of their customers seemed to care, as the long lunches were legendary.

Re: People should be free to decide for themselves what is propaganda

@ A/C

While your point is valid, in the Democracy that I live in the Government controls the media not by jailing journalists, but by refusing them access if their questions become uncomfortable.

They have also allowed the consolidation of media ownership to the point where there are two media owners in the country. They own all of the newspapers (bar two regional titles), all of the commercial radio stations, and all of the TV channels. (The exception being a really poorly run state owned channel).

Ironically the only independent news organisation is a state owned radio network, which has had it's funding frozen for the last 10 years, as they continue to ask uncomfortable questions.

HP Inc, HPE both slapped with racism, ageism lawsuit

Youngone Silver badge

Unsure what to think

I wonder if it really is racism here. I mean two of the complainants are in Georgia, so it's entirely possible but if the HP's are anything like the huge multinational I work for, it could just be cost cutting.

These guys are all older, more experienced workers, so presumably cost more to employ.

My PHB's are in another round of getting rid of the older more experienced people (gender and race doesn't come into it) and bugger the customers.

I am quite sure we will lose market share because it but HP has been doing that anyway for years so it won't make much difference to them.

Either way, it's a poor way to treat people.

Although we've been gazing at the sky for as long as there have been people, we still know almost nothing about the universe we live in.

Kepler is doing a great job of advancing that knowledge, but this is the infancy of the planet-hunting sciences, so I wouldn't be at all surprised if we decide the types of planets are a sort of sliding scale rather than hard and fast rules.

You jest of course, but that is exactly what the rulers in Egypt are worried about.
