Worse than that - he's suggesting he's a daily mail reader.

Don't you mean a bit 'Abrams'?
In a stunning plot twist an aged Jar Jar goes back in time to hang with his Mesa buddy Darth Maul only to accidentally erase the entire time line that produced Anakin Skywalker and Midaclorians by accidentally wiring the throttle of Anakins pod racer directly to the fuel tank.
Fortunately Luke and Leia are warned of their impending demise via a disturbance in the force as if a billion movie goers suddenly cried out with joy and taking Han and Chewie with them they too travel back in time via a convenient black hole. Arriving slightly too late they are able to save Qui-Gon, Jar-Jar, Anakin and Obi-wan but not before their voice boxes are irreparably damaged - resulting in the rest of their roles in the 2nd Trilogy being sub-titled. Bitter Jar-Jar attempts to attack the time travelers, but fortunately Han shoots him first without warning, and Chewie beats the wounded Jar-Jar to death with his own ripped off arms.
The world saved our heroes jump in another passing black hole and spend their twilight years teaching their Jedi children to fleece the roulette wheels at Hutt Vegas III.
If JJ's doesn't take more liberties with Star Wars than the above I'll eat my hat.
If the Beeb is responsible for 20% of the European TV budget - that kinda suggests what a dire state the rest of Europe is in.
I find it ironic that the 2 tax payer subsidised organisations (Beeb and C4) produce better quality output imo than the other UK ones (looking at you ITV and Sky).
Its not mentioned but is it possible that Beeb/Beeb Worldwide is also the biggest TV exporter in Europe? Or do someone like the Spanish channels get a look in? Or possibly the Scandinavians' with the current Scando-Noir trends.
Since I've had all those problems with android and apple tablets apart from the tiny icons might I suggest you are exaggerating slightly. I would never suggest you might have blinkers - no siree......
And don't get me started on the horror show that is mobile Firefox for Android.
Point is all early versions of products have bugs - what did you expect when you bought Windows Tab v1.x?
All we've had from HP so far is FUD nearly all of which is based on absolutely valid IFRS accounting. The only lesson we can take from this so far is that a) HP managemrent doesn't understand GAAP accounting or b) they are just leaking and spinning for all they are worth.
Add in the total lack of corporate governance HP has demonstrated over the last 7 years or so up to and including Meg's powergrab for all 3 C roles and there is only one conclusion.
Something is toxic in HP it has been for years and it still getting worse. The entire board and c suite need to be hauled up on corporate malfeasance charges.
It doesn't trample any international rules. All these alignment issues between slightly differing judicial systems are thrashed out during extradition and cross border policing treaties. Just coz you and Asshat don't like them doesn't mean they aren't binding and legal up until the exact moment the ECHR rules against them - which they haven't in this case.....
At that kind of price (assuming £=$) and range - it will be a serious contender in the compact-mid size executive market.
Given the choice between a high end 3 series/low end 5 series and a model 3 - I suspect a certain % will choose the T3.
Especially if it gets on the main stream fleet management/contract hire provider lists.
I can see some private charging/filling station deals like a lot of bigger fleets already operate for LPG/Diesel.
Hmmm I smell a deliberate pump and dump. Would anyone care to explain how apples fortunes have materially changed in the last 9 months - their product line certainly hasn't.
The only legitimate thing I can suggest would be if Samsungs current woes are an indication that peak Android has been reached band that Apple might benefit. - not trollling.
If you take hardware Gizmo's aside Apple still has a slight edge in the UI/human interface layer - even if I think IOS 7 is dog barf.
Strange juxtaposition of 2 different things imo. Facebooks paranoia or prudery has very little to do with the applicability or UK porno law apart from the face they were probably constructed by those of a similar attitude to "father knows best".
Rather than outrage bear in mind that the key part of the UK law is - interpretation. The reason this is left some what open to judges is so they can use their judgment. It may involve some idiot plod erring on the side of caution occassionaly but that's how our justice system works over here.
I would say there is the odd self publisher that has done well. Randolph Lalonde (Spinward fringe) springs to mind. Although imo - he never rises above middle tier space opera, and the series looks increasing in need of a strong editorial presence.
You are right about there being a lot of dross at the 99p end of the market.
Agree with you that Amazon are the worse of the 2 in this scenario.
Or alternatively its got nothing at all to do with dis-intermediation and everything to do with Amazon wanting to establish a good old fashioned monopsony/monopoly.
Since successful authors tend to have multi-decadal careers they have got to ask themselves if they feel safe staying with a Publisher or helping Amazon eliminate publishers then taking the risk that Amazon wont screw them later down the line.
Its worth not conflating ebooks and mp3's as the world is wont to do on this topic. Books as an eco system are much wider and healthier than music imo, and record companies <> publishers. I think a lot of people unconsciously make this comparison and it very quickly breaks down if you think about it.
Charlie Stross has written a few good posts on his blog on why he won't self publish and the useful things publishers do for authors whilst still having a rant about DRM and other things. I suggest anyone wanting a balanced view have a gander.
This is just one of many posts.

We already do though - but why not put it in the hands of those who can make informed decisions on how effective it will be in preventing a fighting crime. Letting the Rozzers decide if they want a data slurp vs more bobbies on the beat couldn't actually be any worse than the current scenario....could it?
In most banks this require's 2 clicks of the send button. Basically it makes you classify the email - and then again prompts you if it detects a non local email domain.
My previous bank had this 4-5 years ago. My current bank installed this about a year ago.
Suspect they will be doing the same at GS right now.
If they have it already and the contractor did it anyway - they should be fired.
I don't buy that argument - patent madness is mostly limited to the states and it will only work for so long. Outside of the states new entrants will start to eat their lunch.
And by the by I don't believe truely disruptive products are defendable by patents - as generally thr y cone with new uses that are orthogonal to the existing ones.
It took less than 5 years to smash Nokia's core business to Flinders and I don't believe Nokia's senior managers are more or less stupid than those of the average globo corp (even if Elop was/wasn't a Trojan horse). That's disruption in action. And they had patents out the wazoo.
But this is a bit much. The NSA doesn't have any responsibility for eliminating Zero days - they are a comms spy agency for gawds sake.
Its perfectly reasonable for them to collect exploits to use as part of their toolkits and its perfectly reasonable not to disclose which ones they have.
What's not reasonable is to use those exploits against the general public or anyone who doesn't meet a reasonable definition of threat to the US or its allies.
So no usage of them to create botnets within the general internet population.
To stretch an analogy to breaking point - I don't mind the army (or police) having guns - I object to them being pointed (much less fired) at me when they don't have reasonable suspicion that my behavior or actions warrant it.
I always thought they should have used the iPod Touch form factor & case as their low-rent smart phone model.
Forget aping the 5s with the 5c. Put a basic smart phone (crap camera, no 4g) in a iPod touch shiny case and it will set like hot cakes. Important - don't lose the slimness. No iphone has ever felt as good in my hand as my touch does.
Where does this no rights for foreigners begin and end in USian law?
Presumably if Im on trial for murder I don't get treated much differently whether I'm from the US or not.
(i.e. access to the shitest lawyer I cant afford and banged up on remand in some corporate run SuperMax hell hole)
Other than immigration and extra-border type scenarios where does the different treatment begin and end?
