urm.... after engaging Company X to conduct an exhaustive 18 month consultation and in-depth investigation into our ICT ecosystem, we have concluded that the current system is the most cost efficient implementation.
In further news, Company X confirms a ten year extension the maintenance and support contract of it's cutting edge Windows 3.1 system in use by central government........
It's not worth the cost and delivers the same performance as a SAN. They're up to a just over a gig (iirc) and can only be used in RAID 0 or 1. In a database setting you'll still need to replicate your db to a DR site which means you have to go back to mirroring or log shipping which is far more intrusive on the server than SAN replication.

p.s. Yes I do regret putting tempdb on a couple of these.
Me: I won't agree to signing time sheets electronically because of these two lines.
"Company X may amend these Terms of Use at any time by posting amended Terms of Use to the Site. You will be deemed to have agreed to the amended Terms of Use when you next use this site following any amendment. "
Them: How do we fix this?
I can only imagine that we can could send you a letter confirming that these point will not change - is this acceptable? As per my Ops Director comment's..
Me: Remove the lines from your T&Cs?
Them: We cannot change the terms so we will have to leave this one.
Me: But that line says you can ;-)
I lost the will to live at this stage.
Last night they offered to reduce my contract by 25% and give me a free handset. I don't know why the put down the phone when I wanted to take up the offer. I just wanted to know how they'd reduce my Orange bill! I must admit that she started getting touchy when I use false and advertising at the same time.
