Caveat emptor.

Here's what YOU WON'T be able to do with your PlayStation 4

I already have a console that's upgradeable, lets me run the games I want and can be customized.

I call it my PC. <3

The Colosseum, Hagia Sophia, Tower of London... and, er, Steve Jobs' GARAGE

Thomas 4

I know right?

Someone should contact the makers of Civilization V and tell them they missed a world wonder from the latest expansion pack - some guy's garage.

Maybe it can give a bonus to Faith generation.

Psychology is a nice, easy subject

Digital radio may replace FM altogether - even though nobody wants it

Thomas 4

Crazy theory...

Maybe digital listening is falling because we're in the middle of a ball-breaking recession and DAB radios cost a magnitude more than a cheap FM radio?

That said, my only experience of Digital radio was the old Psion Wavefinder. Way ahead of it's time but cool in a geeky way.

Thomas 4

Re: Jesus Christ

Meh, I don't have any issue with it myself. If they're in front of the Apple store and both staff and fanbois are having fun, what's the harm? I imagine there's quite a few regulars that meet up and talk at these queue gatherings.

Besides, if someone is obsessive enough to queue outside a shop for four days for a phone, wouldn't it be better to know where they are?

Re: It's perfect

@Slartybardfast

You are right - I did make a sweeping generalisation and included people in it I did not intend to. My experience of Yahoo has largely been the comments section of the news articles, which has not left me with the best of impressions.

I apologise.

Not necessarily obvious, he potentially could have been having some psychotic episode brought on by mental illness. I wouldn't really say a cop is the best judge of mental health issues.

Snowden journo's boyfriend 'had crypto key for thumb-drive files written down' - cops

Thomas 4

Does it actually matter?

They collared the guy before knowing anything about what he was carrying or how well protected it was. 9 hours being interrogated by spooks was going to cough a password either way, whether it had been written down or not.

If it had been written down and the password was immediately available, why the need to hold him for 9 hours?

Assange washes hands in election row

Thomas 4

Re: Breanna Manning ??

Breanna Manning is the name Private Manning identifies with according to Zinnia Jones, the transwoman that was called to the trial. I can't provide a link as some of her stuff is NSFW but when the subject of Private Manning's dysphoria was raised, Breanna Manning was one of the names the former Bradley Manning was potentially choosing for her female side. If you do a Google search for Zinnia Jones Bradley Manning, you'll find a number of articles Zinnia Jones wrote for FreeThoughtBlogs and The Huffington Post, amongst others. She was interviewed by Al-Jazera, if I recall correctly too.

Thomas 4

This is a very dark time

For the longest time, I really thought that Julian Assange was a jumped up little shit looking to avoid questioning for rape charges back in Sweden. To be fair, the man *is* a ghastly little toad...

...but...

Having just read about that Guardian journalist's boyfriend that got held for 9 hours for absolutely no frigging reason, does kind of highlight the fact the US are turning into bigger monsters than Al-Qaeda. Breanna Manning is going spend the rest of her life locked in a cell while her dysphoria, depression and other mental issues eat her alive. Edward Snowden is effectively exiled and now has the choice of living under a barbaric Russian regime or getting a second helping of the "justice" that was dished out to private Manning. Yes, Julian Assange is a narcissistic prick but he's absolutely right to be afraid.

Kiwi jetpack gets all-clear for manned tests

Thomas 4

There's potential

I think the problem with jetpacks is that people immediately try to see them as a replacement for a plane or a car, rather than on their own merits.Just imagine if you had a few of these placed in mountainous areas or along cliff walk areas. You'd be able to reach someone more quickly than with a helicopter or plane.

Bradley Manning: 'I'm sorry my actions hurt the United States'

Thomas 4
Unhappy

It's not just Aspergers

The guy has also been struggling with gender dysphoria, according to a well known transgender-related blog. The woman that runs the blog was actually called to the court as she'd had previous contact with Manning when he was still trying to sort out his (or her) gender identity.

I'm currently helping a much loved friend through her own gender struggles and it's hard enough when she's at her own home in contact with her friends. I can't even imagine how nightmarish it must be for Bradley Manning.

Chubby-chasing sex trolls ran me offline, says fashion blogger

Thomas 4
WTF?

@Chris W

If someone came up to me in any social situation and said that, I'd run like fuck. Especially if they were actually holding the vibrator at the time.

Thomas 4

Re: She has a point

Maybe it's the social circles I'm in but saying "I saw those photos of you on your blog and right now, I'm masturbating over them, while fantastising about inserting a Leviathan industrial strength vibrator in you" is not really considered complimentary for some reason...

Thomas 4

She has a point

I wouldn't like it if someone found (the very, very few) photos of me online and then decided to spam me with messages saying how fat and ugly I am. Why is it acceptable just because this person's a woman and a blogger. Sure, bloggers like visitors to their site and comments - that's not the same as you having free licence to be an asshole to them.
